Jannik Sinner's winning run continues as he joins 'Big Four' of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal with new landmark

Jannik Sinner coasted into the last four of the Cincinnati Open on Thursday. Sinner comfortably saw off Felix Auger-Aliassime in straight sets. In doing so, he recorded his 25th straight win on hard courts. He is only the fifth men's player to reach that landmark this century, following the 'Big Four' of Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal.

Jannik Sinner cruised into the semi-finals of the Cincinnati Open, reaching an impressive new landmark in the process.

Wimbledon champion Sinner beat Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime 6-0 6-2 on Thursday to reach the last four.

He became the fifth men's player to record 25 straight wins on hard courts this century.

The four before him to do so were Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal.

Sinner was far too good for Auger-Aliassime, in a match that was barely a contest at all.

Auger-Aliassime had actually won his two previous meetings with Sinner, but a repeat here never looked on the cards.

Sinner took the opening set in just 27 minutes. His opponent did at least then show some resistance early in the second set, going 2-0 ahead, but Sinner stepped up a gear.

Six successive games sealed victory for the dominant Italian, who is looking in strong form again ahead of the final Grand Slam of the year, the US Open, which gets underway in New York next week.

"I felt like I was returning very well," Sinner said. "That was my key point, which gave me the confidence to serve well.

"I had a small drop in the second set when he broke me. I'm happy I broke him back quite early.

"It's very difficult to play against him because he serves very well, moves well. Physically he is in incredible shape. I felt like I was performing some great tennis.

"I'm very happy. Today I felt great on court. But every day is going to be different, so I have to be very careful.

"Tomorrow is a day off, which is good for me. Then we see what I can do in the semis."
