Ugo Humbert became the first Frenchman since Julien Benneteau in 2017 to reach the Paris Masters semi-finals, beating Jordan Thompson in straight sets. Humbert produced a dominant first-set display against Australian Thompson, but the latter improved in a more competitive second set. But Humbert prevailed in the second-set tie-break to progress in front of a delighted home crowd.
