The 2026 One Point Slam champion – Jordan Smith
It wasn’t the final anyone was expecting, but it arguably meant more to two players far from the upper echelons of the sport.
The one million dollar prize goes to New South Wales State champion Jordan Smith as British-born world no 117 Joanna Garland drills an early backhand wide.
The nerves were clear, but what a moment for the amateur, who admits he is speechless and is hoping to buy a house with his winnings!
The Kia final is up first - and Smith misses out
Alec Reverente takes on Jordan Smith for the prize of a new car as the 'best amateur' at the event.
It's Reverente who comes up trumps, forcing the error with a deep strike to the left flank that Smith can only retrieve into the net.
One-Point Slam final - Garland v Smith
Donna Vekic misses out as she fires long and Joanna can't quite believe it.
Just the one million dollars at stake in the next point for these two underdogs.
No pressure, of course.

Underdog Jordan Smith reaches the final
A passive rally that seems to go on for ages is a case of who blinks first between New South Wales State champion Smith and Pedro Martinez.
It's the Spanish world number 71 who wobbles first, skewing into the tramlines to send the amateur to within a whisker of life-changing money!
The semi-finals are set
- Martinez v Smith
- Garland v Vekic
'The more I play against these guys, the more pressure is on them...'
Underdog Joanna Garland turns the screw ahead of her match with Maria Sakkari and is aggressive from the off, forcing a defensive lob out of her opponent before the Greek buckles with a loopy attempt down the line that flies well wide.

The crowd gasp as Alcaraz goes close to firing a backhand and then a forehand long in what proves to be a decent rally.
The Spaniard opts for a trademark dropper to try and finish it off, but dumps it into the net.
We have another shock with both Sinner and Alcaraz out!
'Let's see if he gets tight'
Maria Sakkari tries to get under Carlos Alcaraz's skin in the pre-match chat at the net.
'I'm just focused' is his response.

Asked what went wrong, Zverev says: 'She qas just better than me!'
Do I get nervous? - asks Alexander Zverev
'Have you seen me play Grand Slam finals?'
Fair play to the German for poking fun at some of his most painful moments in sport.
Kyrgios triumphs!
There's a fun rally from backhand to backhand as Nick mimics Djokovic's grunts and possibly throws in a bit of Rafa too as he pretends to over-exert in the exchange.
The Russian enjoys it but ends up skewing his backhand wide to allow the home favourite to stay in the hunt.

There's a case of the yips out there!

Naomi progresses and cheekily thanks her opponent for the assist!

Ouch. Gauff fluffs her serve into the net and it's all over rather quickly.
Coco's much-maligned travails from the service line haunt her once again!

Jordan Smith prevails
