Match point for Kerber and an error from Osaka who hits the net decides proceedings.

OSAKA 0-1 KERBER (5-3)

Very defensive from Kerber and she makes the point on 30-40.
Unfortunate for Osaka who slightly rolls her ankle but looks okay to continue.

Osaka serves but it's three break points for Kerber. Osaka defends one with a swinging volley but Kerber gets it at the second time of asking.

OSAKA 0-1 KERBER (3-3)

Straight game for Kerber. Once more, Kerber is forcing Osaka to a lot of movement on the base line and it's working for her.
Overall, Kerber has to fight less to win her serves than Osaka does.

OSAKA 0-1 KERBER (3-2)

Tight game but Osaka makes the point on 40-30 and brings her serve home.
First time Kerber made an error during a long rally with an ill-advised return.

OSAKA 0-1 KERBER (2-2)

Game for Kerber who is playing a tactically very sound match. Osaka is a bit of an enigma at the moment - she keeps stepping up the intensity but then also immediately loses it again.

OSAKA 0-1 KERBER (2-1)

Misjudgement from Kerber, ace from Osaka and it's a point at 40-15. Osaka hits at an angle and gets the point.

Point on 15-40 and Kerber converts.
The longer the rally, the better for Kerber and she's doing well trying to break Osaka's rhythm.

Straight game for Osaka. She is going for short points at tight angles and it's working well for her.

OSAKA 0-1 KERBER

Osaka had the brighter start, but Kerber well and truly turned the set around.
While Kerber is looking relaxed and happy to pace the base line, Osaka is looking tense and it's costing her in coordination.

Three set points for Kerber, who is serving, but she misses the first one with an out hit. She gets it at the second time of asking though.

Osaka is beginning to look a bit tense and Kerber keeps capitalising on her backhand.

OSAKA 0-0 KERBER (5-5)

Backhand long-line from Kerber, Osaka can't reach it and it's a straight game for Kerber.
She forces Osaka into errors by sending her up and down the base line and putting her off balance.

Straight game for Osaka, almost all points made with the same tactic: she forces Kerber to play forehand multiple times while positioning herself and converts.

Unforced error and a double fault from Osaka early in this game, but she found a way back in and turned it around.

She has definitely stepped up the intensity here. She is pacing the base line and keeps playing against the rolling direction.

Beautiful return from Kerber in there that even warranted applause from Osaka. She is now also back to her signature hits at full stretch to keep a rally going and break her opponent.

The match is levelling out a bit, but Osaka makes the point on 40-30.
Kerber is getting some points off Osaka by forcing her to go backhand long-line and also had the game aided by an ace. Osaka's forehand is looking lethal though.

Stronger start for Osaka again, but Kerber manages to respond and turn the game around.

Very brave start from Osaka who is playing aggressively and takes the first game straight.

WELCOME BACK!

Good evening and thank you for rejoining our live text coverage of the tennis evening session. After an exciting doubles match, we are moving on to women's singles where it's Naomi Osaka versus Angelique Kerber.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-2 ALCARAZ/NADAL

What a match that was! Very tidy from the experienced Argentinian duo of Gonzalez/Molteni almost throughout, but Alcaraz/Nadal truly found their form as a double and when they stepped up the intensity in the late stages, there was no stopping them.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (4-6)

Nadal serves for the match at 40-15, but Gonzalez/Molteni respond with an insane volley. One match ball yet for the Spaniards and this time they make it, courtesy of incredible top spin from Nadal.
Alcaraz has looked incredible at the net this game - he has truly turned from an individual, to a doubles player over the course of this match.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (4-5)

Alcaraz/Nadal defend a point on 40-30, take the advantage themselves and bring it home with an exceptional return from Alcaraz.
Great fighting spirit from Gonzalez in this game who is looking mighty impressive on his backhand at the net. However, Alcaraz/Nadal are stepping up the intensity and Nadal's forehand in particular is looking lethal.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (4-4)

Another straight game for Alcaraz/Nadal who have looked magnificent here.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (4-3)

More of a level playing field in this game as Gonzalez/Molteni finally match Alcaraz/Nadal's increased tempo.
Alcaraz/Nadal defend a point at 40-30 and take the advantage themselves with an excellent bit of skill from Alcaraz. Gonzalez/Molteni respond and the game goes back and forth. Eventually, Gonzalez/Molteni take it.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (3-3)

Once more, Alcaraz/Nadal are looking splendid with Nadal serving and it's another straight game for them to equalise.
Gonzalez/Molteni are showing some lack in concentration now.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (3-2)

And another straight game for Alcaraz/Nadal.
Molteni's serves, rock-solid in the first set, have looked a bit shaky in this game. An error from Gonzalez at 0-30 was the fatal blow.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (3-1)

Having looked to have somewhat lost focus, Alcaraz/Nadal are right back in it now with a straight game.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (3-0)

One break point is lost as Molteni misses a volley, but Gonzalez/Molteni make it at the second time of asking on 40-15.
The Argentinians are moving super quickly at the moment and are giving Alcaraz/Nadal absolutely no chance.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (2-0)

Alcaraz/Nadal defend one point on 40-0, but Gonzalez/Molteni make it at the second time of asking.
Gonzalez/Molteni are doing a better job of defending their position at the net at the moment. Additionally, Alcaraz does well to keep switching sides, but Molteni's return is too good and too fast.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL (1-0)

First game for Gonzalez/Molteni who are looking excellent when serving.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-1 ALCARAZ/NADAL

The first set goes to Alcaraz/Nadal, but there was hardly anything in it. Gonzalez/Molteni are playing a very tidy match so far while Alcaraz/Nadal are pulling out exhibition stuff.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (6-7)

Absolutely nothing in it, but Alcaraz/Nadal take the advantage - unfortunately with a net cord - and Nadal creates the first set point on 3-6. Gonzalez/Molteni claw one back after an ill-advised cross volley from Alcaraz, Molteni reacting at the net, but the Spanish duo make it at the second time of asking, Nadal with a return winner.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (6-6)

Point on 40-15 and Gonzalez/Molteni take it. Gonzalez is looking excellent at the net and Molteni is serving brilliantly with a very high percentage.
We're going into a tie-break!

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (5-6)

Point on 15-40 and Alcaraz/Nadal make it.
Besides one double fault, the Spanish duo is looking incredibly strong with Nadal serving.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (5-5)

Second point at 40-15 for Gonzalez/Molteni. Gonzalez has been outsmarting Nadal a bit with his slower serves.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (4-5)

Alcaraz/Nadal make the point on 30-40. Nadal is looking in exceptional form and showing reflexes like he did 10 years ago. Alcaraz is warming up to doubles now and looking way more relaxed.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (4-4)

Not much in it, but Gonzalez/Molteni make their first point at 40-30. It's a very solid match so far from the Argentinians who are doing a great job of closing down their opponents.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (3-4)

Straight game for Alcaraz/Nadal now. Great serves from Nadal and Alcaraz is looking way more comfortable at the net than at the base line.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (3-3)

One point defended, but Gonzalez/Molteni make it at the second time of asking - nothing flashy in their game so far, but very solid nonetheless.
On the Spanish side, Alcaraz looks to be lacking return stability at the moment.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (2-3)

Alcaraz/Nadal defend two break points and take the advantage but Molteni is on it to equalise again. Alcaraz/Nadal take the advantage back and this time convert.
Nadal is looking in splendid form while Alcaraz is a it of an enigma at the moment - he is showing some nerves, but at the same time played an incredible lob and is keeping rallies alive with hits from the far edge of the court.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (2-2)

Gonzalez/Molteni equalise with a point on 40-15.
Excellent point from Gonzalez in there who hit a spinning ball with plenty of feel to play it short over the net.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (1-2)

Second game for Alcaraz/Nadal who make the point on 15-40 - and an insane break point it was with Nadal standing with his back to the net and still hitting perfectly.
On the other side, Gonzalez impresses with his forehand but has given away points with his backhand.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (1-1)

First point for Alcaraz/Nadal on 30-40 and they make it. Alcaraz is coming into his own now, demonstrated especially in a long rally he kept alive with a hit from near the edge of the court.

GONZALEZ/MOLTENI 0-0 ALCARAZ/NADAL (1-0)

The first game goes to Gonzalez/Molteni who make the first break point at 40-30. The Spaniards don't quite look in the swing of doubles yet.
