'For God's sake!' - Novak Djokovic fumes at French Open camera operator who gets removed after tense incident during Joao Fonseca match

The incident occurred between the second and third set, as the 24-time Grand Slam champion opened a 6-4 6-4 lead over Fonseca - one of the sport's most promising young prospects.

Djokovic has appeared irritable at times despite facing little jeopardy en route to his third-round clash against Fonseca, having shown his frustrations towards the partisan crowd during his second-round match against Valentin Royer, and the courtside camera operator has become the latest in his list of enemies on Court Philippe-Chatrier.

Having come through a physically challenging second set against the 19-year-old Brazilian, who appeared to be growing into the match the longer it went on, the camera operator wanted a closer look at the Serbian, who was seeking respite from the challenging Paris conditions.

But Djokovic took a major issue with just how close the lens was to his face.

As the camera operator approached, Djokovic reacted by angrily gesturing with his hands, saying: "For God's sake, make some space!"

TNT Sports commentator Nick Mullins observed the unusual scenes as ensued, with the courtside camera ultimately changing hands between sets.

"I've just been spending some time watching the poor old cameraman who got it in the face from Novak after Novak got it in the face lens-wise from the cameraman," Mullins said.

"Cedric Mourier, one of the assistant referees, came out just to make the point to the courtside cameraman that you can get close, but you can only get that close.

"That cameraman has now been substituted. There's a new one there."

The third-round clash between Djokovic and Fonseca is their first in a competitive setting.

Fonseca has previously spoken about Djokovic being his idol, and their meeting on Court Philippe-Chatrier represents a major career milestone in his continued breakout on the men's tour.
