The British No. 1 suffered the injury to her right lower leg during the grass-court season and pulled out of Wimbledon just before the start of the tournament.
It is the latest episode in a series of frustrations on the injury front for Raducanu.
The 23-year-old shot to prominence with her stunning US Open success five years ago, but has generally found life tougher since then as she looks to build on that breakthrough triumph.
Raducanu released a video on Monday showing her training in a protective boot. Later in the day came the news - reported by a number of outlets - that she will not make New York.
The final major of the tennis year starts on August 23 with the mixed doubles and finishes on September 13.
What will make this latest injury particularly galling for Raducanu is that it has come soon after a hugely encouraging run to the final at Queen's.
Raducanu lost in the showpiece match to Croatia’s Donna Vekic in west London, but showed a great deal of quality in her performances.
Before that, a foot injury hampered her preparations for this tennis year, before spending nearly three months off court because of a post-viral illness.

Raducanu returned for the end of the clay court season, having rehired Andrew Richardson as coach. He was the man by her side when she won that US Open crown.
But now comes more disappointment for Raducanu, who will hope to return soon and begin the build-up to the first major of 2027, the Australian Open.
She was not among the players named in Great Britain’s team for the Billie Jean King Cup Finals at the end of September.
