#50 Ferrari AF Corse car disqualified from 24 Hours of Le Mans for technical infringement

This year's 24 Hours of Le Mans may be over, but the event still offered up a surprise on Wednesday. The #50 Ferrari AF Corse car has been disqualified from this year's final results after it was judged that they completed the race with bolts missing from the central rear wing support. The vehicle was driven by the trio of Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen.

There has been a change to the final standings of this year's 24 Hours of Le Mans after a Hypercar entry was disqualified for a technical infringement.
The #50 Ferrari AF Corse, which was driven by Antonio Fuoco, Miguel Molina and Nicklas Nielsen, finished fourth in the race.
However, the car and its drivers have been disqualified after being judged to have been missing some of the four bolts from the central rear wing support.
Their disqualification means the #12 Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA car moves up into fourth place in the final standings.
"While surprised by the decision, Ferrari reaffirms its complete confidence in the professionalism and integrity of its team, in the actions taken, and in its respect for the regulations governing the FIA World Endurance Championship," read a statement from Ferrari.
"With full confidence in those same regulations, even though the incident in question offered no competitive advantage to the crew.

"Nor did it compromise the safety of our drivers or that of other competitors.
"Ferrari is already at work ahead of the next rounds of a season that resumes under the global spotlight in July, in Brazil.
"Following the disqualification of the number 50 499P, Ferrari retains its lead in the championship’s Manufacturers’ standings with 172 points."

The #83 AF Corse (Ferrari) finished first in the iconic race, with the #6 Porsche Penske Motorsport securing second and the #51 Ferrari AF Corse taking third.
The three Ferraris impressed from the start and were unfortunate not to occupy all three spots on the podium.
The #50 Ferrari AF Corse came first in the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans with the same team of drivers.
