TNT Sports secures five nominations for SJA Awards, including for prestigious Sports Publisher gong

TNT Sports has received five nominations at the prestigious SJA British Sports Journalism Awards, including for Best Sports Publisher. The news comes after a 2025 in which TNT Sports covered 34 sports around the world, on the ground and from the newsroom, racking up over 270 million page views on our website and app, and over 850 million interactions on our social media platforms.

TNT Sports has picked up five nominations at the SJA British Sports Journalism Awards, including for the prestigious title of Best Sports Publisher of 2025.

There was also recognition for three of TNT Sports' experts in the Pundit category of the Broadcast awards: Brian O'Driscoll, Karen Carney and Ally McCoist - who also collected the Best Pundit award at the 2025 Broadcast Sport Awards.

Darren Fletcher was nominated in the Commentator category.

Andy Elliott, chair of judges and a former SJA chair, said: ”All those who entered the SJA British Sports Journalism Awards deserve the congratulations of the Association, of the judges who gave up their time to wade through hundreds of articles, and of the industry itself.

”At a time when the media is accused of being swamped by clickbait, search-driven content, and rehashed, unchecked stories, the SJA Awards show that genuine, well-crafted, quality sports journalism is alive and kicking.

”The shortlists across all the categories display exemplary standards of sports writing and content creation, and would pass the highest test in any period of the industry and not just the digital age.”

To reflect the changing face and digital direction of sports media and per the SJA, the Sports Publisher category brings together organisations regardless of platform, format or distribution model.

The SJA announcement added that the Sports Publisher shortlist "resembles a royal rumble of big names and reputations."

TNT Sports also received an additional nomination for the AIPS Sport Media Awards 2025, for its documentary following the fortunes of grassroots football club Grenfell Athletic.
