Team GB's Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence face an uphill battle in the 2-man bobsleigh at the 2026 Winter Olympics, sitting eighth after the first two heats. Both runs were not as clean as the duo would have liked, but with two heats remaining, hope is not lost. At the top of the timesheet, Germany occupy the top three spots after a dominant day on the ice.

Team GB’s Brad Hall and Taylor Lawrence find themselves 1.64 seconds off the pace at the halfway stage in the 2-man bobsleigh, as Germany dominated to occupy the top three spots.
Hall and Lawrence would have been hoping to be closer to the podium, but with two heats remaining, there is still hope of another GB medal at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics.
Despite the mammoth gap to the leaders, they are only 0.4 seconds adrift of German duo Adam Ammour and Alexander Schaller in third.
In top spot, Germany’s Johannes Lochner and Georg Fleischhauer shocked their compatriots Francesco Friedrich and Alexander Schuller behind them.
Second-placed Friedrich and Schuller were tipped as the strongest hope of securing gold for Germany but Lochner and Fleischhauer put together two stunning runs to open up an advantage of 0.8 seconds.
Friedrich is the reigning, back-to-back Winter Olympics 2-man bobsleigh champion, but will need to produce something spectacular on Day 11 alongside Schuller to complete the three-peat.

TNT Sports commentator Ben Simons was blown away by the gap at the top, saying: "Absolute domination from Johannes Lochner, what have we seen here? Eight tenths over the GOAT. Unbelievable.
"If we saw that over four runs it might make sense but make this make sense. It’s absolutely incredible."
The surprise package of the day was Romania. Mihai Cristian Tentea and George Iordache were sitting 10th after the first heat but vaulted up the table into fifth with a sublime second run.
They are just 0.24 seconds outside the podium places as it stands and could capture a shock medal if they can continue their strong form.

With a time of 55.65, Great Britain sat eighth after their first run, nearly a second adrift. They would have been hoping to improve on their next effort but actually got slower.
That leaves them with an uphill battle if they want to push themselves into medal contention.
