Winter Olympics 2026 bobsleigh live comments today. Follow live updates as Brad Hall's four-man Team GB crew look for a medal on the final day of the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. Hall, Lawrence Taylor, Greg Cackett and Leon Greenwood sit seventh after the opening two heats on Saturday, but only 0.23s off the medal positions, with Germany poised for bronze, silver and gold.

Olympics live: Germany win gold and silver, Switzerland break their lock on the medals
A fantastic drive by Mickey Vogt and a few slips by the third German crew was enough to bring about the 0.09s swing for his four to take bronze. Johannes Lochner didn't need a great run to drive his crew to gold but they delivered one anyway, making fewer mistakes than anyone to win by 0.57 seconds over their compatriot sled, piloted by the experienced Francesco Friedrich. The veterans can bow out with pride at their accomplishments.

In the last dance, they put down a 55.7. It is the fastest run of the heat, even as it reflects the slower track conditions. In the last dance of Lochner's career he is going out on the highest of highs!
Olympics live: The second Germans ease their way to the bottom
Francesco Friedrich, the most decorated pilot in history, makes a few mistakes but has so much in hand he can afford to. It's not his best drive but it's more than enough for silver, by 0.5 seconds over the Swiss. As he completes what might be his final Olympic bobsleigh run, this driver will be remembered by this sport.

Adam Ammour matches their best start and is 0.12 up on the Swiss, but a hit costs them three hundredths. It's down to 0.02 and into the red at the line. The Swiss are in the medals, by 0.04 seconds! Mickey Vogt has a bronze medal at worst!

A fantastic start but they hit everything in sight in the first couple of corners. The medals look beyond them, as they nudge 131kph. They cross the line with a 54.77, 0.22 behind their fastest but is that down to the speed of the track. It's enough to put pressure on the third German sled.

In fifth place after three heats, they need nine hundredths to move up one place, a minimum of 18 to move into the medals. It's a lovely couple of transitions and though the speed isn't great, it's smooth enough to take the lead with a 54.93. They needed more. It won't be a medal for this squad on this sunny final Sunday.

Another 4.78 start, gives them a tenth over the Swiss at the start. They hold that until a big skid costs 0.06s seconds, and it goes into the red. It's not what they wanted, but it's a guaranteed seventh at worst.

Starting with the former as they look to break the dead head. Their clean at the start but behind on the Koreans through check two, into the green further through the run. Cedric Follador pulls out a 54.94, not the quickest so far, but strong by their own standards.

They match the Austrians at the start and go a little quicker through the top of the course. A hit and a skid costs them speed but they do enough to hang onto their place by 0.06. It's a case of what could have been, if they'd been able to put it all together, but they stay eighth.

They need a 0.15 swing to move up a place. It's another great getaway, and although they lose some ground to Latvia in the middle, it's not enough to cause problems. Markus Treichl finds more speed in the finish for the first sub 55s run of this heat, a 55.90.

Jekabs Kalendar have a slower start than the USA but it's better than their own record. They've got 0.11s in hand, and they lose all but 0.02 of those at the top of the track, only to gain it all back and more, going into first by 0.22s. Great end to their Olympics, as they guarantee a top ten placing.

Another huge start, with 4.78, matching their best. It's a bit wobbly in the middle with a couple of skids and hits, but it's enough to go first by 0.12. They stay in front but the gap has narrowed.

He needs to find 0.17 to move up on the other American sled. A great exit from the first corner is a big stride towards that, but the gap over the Dutch started to slip in the mid part of the course. They had enough in hand for a 55.07, just 0.03 faster than the Netherlands but enough to overhaul them.

However a good start by the rookie crew is not matched on the mid section of the course. It's very hard to regain speed once it's been lost, and the clock goes red by 13 hundredths. Through the uphill they've fallen two places, by 0.05. The Dutch hang on with twelve to go.

But they can be so proud of how they've slid across this games. A slight change of crew, but Mihai Tentea remains their driver, of course. It's a quicker start from them than previously, but it's not as clean a run as the Dutch or the Canadians. Even as Tentea was able to iron out the difficulties it was fourth at the line, by 0.15s.

But only over their compatriot crew. It was fractions of a second over the Dutch all the way, but they were only losing ground. They drop back two places, on Canada and the Netherlands.

The next three sleds are separated by just two hundredths, which means a chance for the last Canadian crew to leap up the standings. Wesselink's crew survived thanks to a super strong start but as it is they keep their nose in front by 0.01 seconds, for a 55.04 - exactly the same time as the top Canadians.

Increasing the gap over the Chinese behind them by 0.18, almost all of which came in the final part of the run.

A 55.22 run is exactly the same as they delivered in run three. No surprises so far, but a solid performance from this young squad.
Olympics live: Edson Bindilatti goes for broke
The 46 year-old does what he can, but the second man struggled to get into the sled at the start - slowing them to a 4.93. 83mph at the bottom half of the track and he delivers by two hundredths of a second, holding their position as it stands. What a final run for the veteran.

In his first games as a driver, Jay Dearborn delivers an improved 4.80 start. They take a few knocks but nothing major to set the 4th run benchmark of 55.29. It's quicker on the fresh ice, albeit looser as he goes for speed.

Olympics live: Recapping the third run
Brad Hall's GB sled move up one place to 6th but lose nine hundredths on the Italians ahead of them and, crucially, eight hundredths on the third German squad currently occupying the bronze medal position. It's a lot to ask Hall to overhaul the three sleds ahead of him and claim another bit of bling, but stranger things have happened!
In the race for gold, Johannes Lochner's first German sled was streets ahead of the rest, starting the day with a blistering 54.25, five hundreds quicker than the time put in by his compatriots in the silver medal spot. Barring incident or accident, Lochner's 0.52s overall lead means he and his boys will be Olympic champions after the final run in just under an hour from now.
Silver looks secure for Francesco Friedrich's four as well, the gap back to third 0.42 seconds. Adam Ammour's third German sled can't put anything in the bank just yet, with the Swiss breathing down their necks at just 0.9s back. The Italians are still in the bronze medal mix as well, the same gap to the Swiss. A run of which Patrick Baumgartner is more than capable of delivering - plus a few hits here and there from those ahead - could see them shoot up the standings.

Olympics live: The second Koreans the last to slide
23rd place overnight, they put in the 19th fastest start, but with too much ground to make up 23rd is where they finish.
Olympics live: Not to be for crowd favourites Jamaica
Featuring Joel Fearon who scored a bronze for Great Britain in Korea. Shane Pitter gets them off to a great start but a few knocks on the way down is the difference between them and a final run. They tie with Liechtenstein but it's no final heat for the Jamaicans this time around.
Olympics live: Liechtenstein will be losing out
A slow start and they don't get quicker. Heartbreak with a 55.56 leaving them in 21st place. They couldn't afford to fall back but they did.

And it's 19th for the Brazilian crew! That's a win for the green sled, with a 55.38.

Great getaway from this Canadian crew. It's all about gaining experience for this second Canadian team and they can be happy enough, despite a big flop at the Anterlau corner. We're at the point where someone is going to miss out on a 4th run.

And they don't make up ground by the bottom, neither gainining ground on their compatriots nor overhauling the Canadians.

A 54.97, brings Kaizhi Sun's squad within a whisker of the Romanians.

And Mihai Tentea can be delighted with that, as they too jump up two spots with a 55.05 - their equal faster on a track that's deteriorated since the first run yesterday.

A great run by Timo Rohner, even though they had a skid and gave away a tenth at the start, still delivered a 54.92. What could have been without those errors?

Quicker than the Dutch at 55.11 but not faultless - they're now just one hundredth behind the team from the Netherlands. It's all to play for in the final run.

Frankie del Duca drives a run that's 0.27 quicker than his compatriots but they remain 12th.

Markus Treichl's four have talent but it hasn't been enough for them before now. It's a solid enough run but they only improve by one place, with a 54.7. The Germans are sitting pretty.

Their jet black sled doesn't do them any favours and after a solid start, they take a big fishtail hit on the first corner. Less than halfway through they were already down 1.5 seconds. They've gone from 1 second behind to nearly 2 seconds down.

They just haven't been able to put it together these last few weeks, and deliver the eighth quickest time of 54.75.

They needed the run of their lives and after a great start at 4.78, they only manage joint sixth. A good run, but not good enough, and Brad Hall's head shake says it all.

But a 4.87 start doesn't help their cause. Cedric Follador puts in a decent enough run but it's not a step forward at 54.69 - not a step forward, indeed they lose ground on the medals.

A decent start, followed by some of the nicest lines we've seen so far. It's the fourth fastest time so far, at 54.57.

Michael Vogt's team start 0.85 behind, finish more than a second down on the leaders, and remain in 4th. Quicker than the team before them at 54.55, but the number three slipped on the entry, so could they have gone quicker.

Adam Ammour drives his heart out but it's not a clean run, 54.58, potentially opening the door to those behind - including the Brits.

A 54.3 puts them 5 hundredth's further behind.

But 54.25 is faster than their third run for Johannes Lochner's squad. The conditions aren't as quick as yesterday.

The 24 squads remaining will proceed in time order, starting with the leading German team. Only the top 20 teams placed after Heat 3 will advance to Heat 4. Can anyone break the German lock on the podium?

Brad Hall, Lawrence Taylor, Greg Cackett and Leon Greenwood have real pedigree in this event. Only Leon Greenwood came to this games as a newbie, with Hall, Cackett and Taylor having a combined total of seven Olympic events between them, across two games. Pilot Hall is the most experienced of the quartet, having competed in both 4-man and 2-man events at Beijing and PyeongChang. Four years ago, his 4-man squad finished sixth - one place higher than they currently sit after two heats - but they've improved significantly since then, having finished 3rd at last year's World Championships in Lake Placid, USA. The time to make up to claw their way onto the podium today is just 0.11s - far less than they missed out on in China. Two heats will decide the placings. It all kicks off in just five minutes time.

Hall's crew occupy seventh place after the opening two heats on Saturday but, crucially, are only 0.23s off bronze position, as the action gets underway from 9:00 GMT - live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Team GB sat third after a strong opening heat, but lost some pace in their second run, and have it all to do if they are to provide another celebration for Great Britain.
Germany occupy the bronze, silver and gold positions with their three teams gunning to make up the podium come the end of Sunday's action.
