Scotland added to their gold medal haul at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games in thrilling fashion in the Para Mixed Pairs B2-B3 bowls final against England. The hosts lost the first set 7-2 to England before roaring back to win the second 6-3 and set up a dramatic tie-break.

And a captivating bowls contest in Glasgow came right down to the wire.
"If you ever wondered if bowls could be tense, you’ve joined at just the right time," TNT Sports commentator Nick Mullins said.
"An extra end to decide who will be the gold medallist."
With her penultimate bowl, Sally-Ann Lewis-Wall put England in position for gold with a pinpoint shot that settled a few inches from the jack.
"She has put in the bowl that may well win gold," continued Mullins.
Could Scotland’s Robert Barr respond under the most intense pressure? The veteran opted for pace in an attempt to remove the England bowl, the jack, or both.
His effort caught one of the England guards, but the deflection worked out perfectly, sending his bowl into the jack and pushing it into the ditch.
That put Scotland in pole position for gold with just one shot remaining for each team.
"It’s as noisy as this place has been," added Mullins. "With his penultimate bowl, Robert Barr does this."
Co-commentator Andy Thomson added: "It’s part of the game, but he’s got a little bit of fortune there.
"Sally-Ann has got one bowl – I think she’ll be trying to take the blue bowl out."

With little other option, Lewis-Wall tried to move Scotland’s scoring shot, but her effort slipped just inside her intended target, meaning it was gold for the hosts.
"The first bowls medal at these Glasgow Games is a home gold medal," said Mullins, as the Scotland fans inside the SEC Centre lapped up another moment to remember.
