Liege-Bastogne-Liege Women 2025 LIVE - Kim Le Court takes spectacular sprint victory over Vollering and Pieterse at Ardennes Classics finale

The winner gave an interview to the press immediately after the race. She said: 'When I bridged the gap on Roche Aux Faucons, I really felt strong compared to the others, I saw they were really suffering. Of course, I was suffering too, but for me to make that effort to bridge to them, I knew I had maybe a bit more legs. Of course, there was the effort to bridge to Cedrine first, she's such a good rider, and also in downhills, I almost died five times! But I really didn't know until I got to the sprint and I just kicked and I just never looked back. I could see, I think, Puck’s wheel, but, yeah, I just didn't stop.

'I saw a Mauritian flag on the course, actually, today. I'm so proud, and I'm so happy I could finally give a win. It's been always so close this whole season, and I've actually aimed for Liege-Bastogne-Liege but this whole season, it's been really the last classic I really wanted to win. So I can't believe we made it all together as a team.'

We've had a different victor in each of the Ardennes classics - each has been exciting and unpredictable, and in Kim Le Court Liege-Bastogne-Liege crowns a thoroughly deserving winner.

The Mauritian champion has had a strong classics season, with four top ten finishes prior to today, and will head into Grand Tour season high on confidence.

A fantastic sprint finish for the AG Soudal-Insurance rider - this is a huge victory for the Mauritian national champion, her first major classics victory, who biggest win before this was a stage win at the 2024 Giro d'Italia.

That was breathless - Le Court's sprint was very strong, she had the best of the other three, with Pieterse coming through in second and Vollering third. Kerbaol takes fourth.

Vollering leads the group as they approach the finish line, with Kerbaol at the rear. This is very cagey. Who will open first?

Demi Vollering, Puck Pieterse, Kim Le Court and Cedrine Kerbaol each have a one in four chance to take a big victory here. For Vollering it would be her third victory at the race - for the other three, it would be a maiden victory at the race known as La Doyenne - 'the Old Lady.'

The chase group are not making any in-roads into catching this leading group - they remain 30 seconds back, and the best position they can hope to achieve is fifth place.

A gap appears on the descent as Vollering leads the charge and Le Court has to ride hard to close her down. They are all together and it's now just 2 kilometres to the finish line.

Kerbaol takes the long way around the roundabout and has to work hard to get back to the other three. The four are all together once again heading towards Liege, where it looks as if we'll see a four-up sprint for victory. Who will have the legs to take it? It's a tough one to call, as none of these riders are known for their sprints.

8.5KM TO GO - ALL CHANGE
The four leaders are together - and a chase group of seven has coalesced behind them including Kopecky and Niewiadoma. They are 30 seconds in arrears however and look unlikely to be able to make an impression on this strong lead group, which now consists of Vollering, Pieterse, Le Court and Kerbaol.

Cedrine Kerbaol continues to lead the race solo, but her gap is falling - just five seconds stands between her and the chasing trio, but she is such a gritty rider, she's able to dig deep and push a big gear, but behind her Pieterse is closing her down.

Puck Pieterse decides enough is enough and takes charge of the chase group. The road heads uphill, though this isn't a categorized climb, and now Kopecky drops as Niewiadoma is able to pass her and head towards the lead group. It's constantly shifting and changing here, a completely unpredictable race situation.

Kim Le Court (AG Insurance Soudal) joins Vollering and Pieterse in the chase, ten seconds behind Kerbaol, as Reusser drops away.

This group of four has a good gap on the rest now, though Marlen Reusser is trying to bridge to them using her characteristic powerful style.

Kerbaol attacks on a short descent and the other three look at one another - they've given the Frenchwoman a gap.

Reusser makes contact and Kopecky is looking for assistance, but Vollering will not ride.

Reusser takes up the front position in the chase group - but Kerbaol has already got a 12 second gap.

13.5KM TO GO - VOLLERING MAKES HER MOVE
It's all change on this final climb, as Vollering moves through to the front of the group. Pieterse follows and Kerbaol is able to stay with them - this is one of her best climbing performances, alongside the world champion Lotte Kopecky who is grimacing to try and keep herself in contact with the leaders. This new quarter forms as the rest drop away, unable to hold on to the pace of these four riders.

Elise Chabbey charges into the foot of the final climb but appears to ease off slightly following radio instruction from her team leader Volllering.

Rooijakkers is the first of the lead group to be caught, picking up Pieterse, now only van der Breggen and Kerbaol remain out front but they are being closed down fast.

Kasia Niewiadoma is dropped as Pieterse takes the lead on the climb with Kerbaol on her wheel.

15.5KM TO GO - FINAL CLIMB APPROACHES
The gap has dropped just 20 seconds, with Movistar drilling it at the front of the chase group on behalf of Lippert and Reusser. FDJ SUEZ are temporarily shuffled a bit further back in the group. Two Lidl-Trek riders are still here along with two Alpecin-Deceuninck, two from AG Insurance Soudal, one from Liv-Jayo AlUla, one Visma-LAB and four from FDJ SUEZ.

The lead group are more organised than the chase group - that's the difference currently, and as a result, the gap opens out once again to just over 25 seconds.

The final climb of the day is the Côte de La Roche Aux Faucons. 1,3km long with an average gradient of 11%, it will be decisive in this race, before a final 13 kilometers to the finish line in Liege.

Lippert and Marlen Reusser share a few words at the front of the chasing bunch.

Kerbaol misses her bottle in the feed zone, and Niedermayer offers her one - a lovely sporting gesture.

The four riders at the front of the race come back together once again, as the chase regroups with Movistar at the head.

It's really interesting to observe the climbing styles of the four leaders, with van der Breggen solid and seated, while Rooijakkers spends much of her time out of her saddle. They are taking the climb at a steady pace and have opened out their gap to 13 seconds once again as they reach the summit of the climb.

Liane Lippert leads the chase group now for Movistar, as Pauline Ferrand-Prevot is the next to attack.

Going onto the descent, Kerbaol attacks - she is an incredibly gifted descender and will try her best to get away here. Niedermayer is able to stay with her.

As the riders begin the penultimate climb of the day, the Côte des Forges, the lead group's advantage is being shredded by this determined FDJ SUEZ chase. Their pace-setting is taking its toll on the rest of the chase group and more riders begin to lose touch.
