The Liverpool forward is expected to finish in and around the top five, but at one point during the 2024-25 campaign the Egyptian was the favourite to finally win the Ballon d'Or.
Salah helped Arne Slot's Reds lift the Premier League title but they came up short in the other competitions last season - including the UEFA Champions League which so often plays a significant role in voting.
The 33-year-old scored 34 goals and provided 23 assists in 52 appearances.

Lionel Messi has won the most men’s Ballon d’Or awards, being crowned the world’s best player on EIGHT occasions.
Cristiano Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or awards, while Michel Platini, Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten are all three-time winners.
