Alessia Russo has been named the England Women’s Player of the Year for the 2023/24 season.
The Arsenal forward tallied the most votes for the award, beating Chelsea pair Lauren James and Lucy Bronze, who came in second and third respectively.
Russo made 11 starts for The Lionesses in 2023/24, scoring six goals, and she has 42 total caps to her name, netting 20 times in her England career.
The 25-year-old started six of England’s Euro 2025 qualifiers, scoring three times, with The Lionesses set to defend the title they won in 2022 in Switzerland next summer.
England lost just once in their qualifying campaign, 2-1 to France at St James' Park in May, but they exacted their revenge by the same scoreline just a month later at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard, with Russo scoring the decisive second in the 34th minute after Georgia Stanway had opened the scoring.
Russo netted England's only goal in the 1-1 draw with Sweden to open their qualifying account, and also scored in the 2-1 win over Ireland at Carrow Road.

The Lionesses are set to face Germany on October 25 at Wembley, before taking on South Africa in Coventry four days later.
Russo has played seven times for Arsenal this term, scoring and assisting once, and notched 12 goals in 22 appearances in her debut season for The Gunners, having made the switch from Manchester United after her contract had expired.
For The Red Devils, Russo spent three seasons in Manchester, playing 46 times and scoring 22 times.
