Manchester United continued their unbeaten start to the Women's Super League season after edging out Brighton & Hove Albion with a 3-2 win at Broadfield Stadium.
Goals from Elisabeth Terland, Jess Park and Lisa Naalsund were enough to give United a slender win over The Seagulls, who found the net through Fran Kirby and Kiko Seike.
Terland broke the deadlock against her former club after Julia Zigiotti played on Ella Toone's pass, and she fired home from close-range, despite replays revealing the Norwegian to be in an offside position.
Toone was the provider for United's second goal, laying the ball out to Park, who rifled home a strike from the edge of the box just two minutes shy of the hour mark.
Dario Vidosic's side halved the deficit after Kirby made a well-timed run from Marisa Olislagers' pass, and applied a clinical finish into the bottom corner.
Naaslund restored United's two-goal advantage when she took Park's pass into her stride, before unleashing a first-time finish past Chiamaka Nnadozie.
Brighton had the last word, as Seike dinked her effort over Phallon Tullis-Joyce in stoppage time, but it was in vain as United claimed all three points.
Marc Skinner's side sit third with 17 points from seven games, while Brighton are seventh with seven points from as many matches.
Arsenal hit Leicester for four
Arsenal continued their recent resurgence by easing to a 4-1 victory over Leicester City at King Power Stadium.
Strikes from Alessia Russo and Stina Blackstenius, along with a Sari Kees own goal, sealed a comfortable win for Renee Slegers’ side in the East Midlands.
The Gunners broke the deadlock in the seventh minute when Leicester’s defence failed to deal with Beth Mead’s cross, before the ball eventually fell to Russo to power a finish past Janina Leitzig.
Russo played a key role in Arsenal’s second, as Kees inadvertently turned home from a ball across the box after eluding Caitlin Foord.
The damage was done in the 36th minute with Mead playing an integral part once again, teeing up Blackstenius to provide a sliding finish past Leitzig.
Noemie Mouchon added what proved to be a late consolation with a superb solo surge into the box before applying a cool finish past Daphne van Domselaar.
But The Gunners re-established their three-goal advantage just a minute later through Blackstenius' second of the match.
The Swede latched onto Chloe Kelly's pass and rifled home an emphatic finish past Leitzig.
The result leaves Rick Passmoor’s side 10th after succumbing to a fourth defeat of the season, while Slegers’ team sit fourth and five points adrift of league leaders Chelsea.
Aston Villa and Everton share spoils in thrilling draw
Aston Villa and Everton drew 3-3 in a pulsating encounter at Villa Park.
The hosts struck first in the 12th minute when Kelly Gago slotted home after being picked out by Martina Fernandez.
Georgia Mullett pulled The Toffees level when she headed in Noelle Maritz's cross at the far post in first-half stoppage time.
Kirsty Hanson restored Villa's lead a minute shy of the hour mark with a clinical close-range finish.
But Everton responded again, this time through Hikaru Kitagawa's superb finish.
Ruby Mace then looked to have sealed all three points for the hosts with an unfortunate own goal, as she turned Ebony Salmon's delivery into her own net.
However, Gago's second of the match in stoppage time sealed a point for the visitors in dramatic fashion.
Villa and Everton occupy eighth and ninth, respectively, after this draw, with Natalia Arroyo's hosts two points better off and holding a game in hand.
Spurs overcome Liverpool
Tottenham Hotspur recovered from a goal down to beat Liverpool 2-1 at BetWright Stadium.
Goals from Toko Koga and Beth England ultimately proved decisive after Beata Olsson's opener for the visitors.
Olsson fired Liverpool in front after punishing the Spurs defence for failing to clear away Grace Fisk's cross.
Spurs responded when Koga applied the simplest of finishes from point-blank range, tapping in Olivia Holdt's cross.
