Barcelona 1-2 Paris Saint-Germain: UEFA Champions League result as Goncalo Ramos stuns Barca with 90th-minute winner as holders claim comeback win

Defending European champions Paris Saint-Germain maintained their winning start to the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League season with a last-gasp win over Barcelona on Matchday 2.

Goals from teenage striker Senny Mayulu and substitute forward Goncalo Ramos sealed a come-from-behind victory for the Ligue 1 champions, who fell behind on 19 minutes after a sweeping passing move was finished off by Barcelona's Ferran Torres.

At that stage, the hosts looked comfortably the better side, but PSG responded well after the early setback, with the pace of Mayulu and Ibrahim Mbaye causing problems to Barca's high defensive line, while the marauding full-backs Nuno Mendes and Achraf Hakimi gave the visitors a constant threat from wide areas.

That threat eventually led to an equaliser, as a powerful forward run from Mendes created an opening for Mayulu, which the 19-year-old tucked away with ease to draw PSG level on 38 minutes.

The second half saw PSG establish more control of the game, as Barcelona never quite got to grips with the pace of the French side. And with Hansi Flick's outfit persisting with a high line, there were constant openings for the visitors to expose them with pace.

Several times, PSG found space out wide and created openings. But with the game deadlocked at 1-1, both managers turned to their benches as they made a host of changes in a bid to make a match-winning difference.

And one of PSG's substitutes, striker Ramos, proved to be the crucial change as he netted a last-gasp winner.

Hakimi found himself in acres of space down the right wing, and his perfectly-weighted cross found the charging Ramos, who met it first time in stride to put PSG 2-1 up as the match entered stoppage time.

Barca looked shell-shocked, and as stoppage time played out, it was PSG who came closer to adding to the scoresheet as they secured a hard-earned away win against a fellow contender.

PSG's victory was all the more impressive because they won without a host of their most influential first-teamers. Ousmane Dembele, Desire Doue, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Joao Neves and Marquinhos were all missing as the competition's holders showed their strength in depth with a superb away performance.

It means that PSG have two wins from their first two Champions League games, and sit third in the league phase standings on goal difference, behind Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

What a finish to the game! PSG threw on a host of substitutes in a bid to win the match, and the changes paid off with Ramos finding the net in the last minute.

It was a deserved winner for the visitors, who looked the more likely side to win it as the second half progressed.

It means PSG maintain their 100 percent record, while Barcelona suffer their first defeat of the season.

Unbelievable scenes in Barcelona as PSG break at pace again. Hakimi is given the freedom of Catalunya down the right wing, and his cross for substitute striker Ramos is inch-perfect.

The PSG substitute almost makes a huge impact as he cuts in from the right and unleashes a superb shot that has Szczesny beaten, but cannons off the post.

This game is still very much there for the taking, and PSG look the more likely side to nick a late winner.

Both managers have turned to their respective substitute benches in a bid to gain the upper hand in the final quarter of an hour.

Barca's Hansi Flick has introduced Robert Lewandowski up front, but the big Polish striker hasn't got the best record against PSG. In fact, he's scored just once against PSG in five UEFA Champions League games, and that lone goal came way back in 2017.

Overall, Lewandowski has a minutes-per-goal ratio against PSG of 450 – his worst against any opponent in the competition.

He'll be hoping to bury those stats by burying a late chance here tonight.

Barca carve open the PSG defence and, after an initial shot is blocked, the loose ball falls to Dani Olmo, with seemingly the entire goal to aim at.

His effort is heading in, only for Hakimi to appear out of nowhere to make the goal-saving block.

He's been a real threat in attack, but the PSG full-back just did his job as a defender with a superb effort.

Lamine Yamal cuts in from the right and is brought down by Nuno Mendes, right on the edge of the penalty area.

The Barca players want a second yellow for the PSG left back, but referee Oliver isn't interested.

To be honest, Yamal waving an imaginary yellow card in the air should probably see him go into the referee's notebook.

The official keeps his cards in his pocket, and Yamal fires the resulting free-kick over the crossbar.

PSG break at pace and Dani Olmo cynically (or smartly, depending on your view) brings down Mbaye to prevent a breakaway attack.

Ref Michael Oliver doesn't hesitate and immediately shows the yellow card to the Barca playmaker.

The hosts have started the second half well, and Barcola has just stung the palms of Szczesny in the Barca goal.

From the next attack, Hakimi twists and turns his way into the Barca box and has a shot deflected wide for a corner, but a disappointing delivery means nothing comes of it.

It's an encouraging start to the second period for the holders.
