SEVENTH HEAVEN FOR THE GUNNERS AS JESUS DOUBLE INSPIRES WIN AT INTER MILAN
Gabriel Jesus scored twice to guarantee Arsenal a top-two finish in the league phase as The Gunners stayed perfect in the UEFA Champions League courtesy of a 2-1 victory at Inter Milan.
The Brazilian reacted brilliantly to divert Jurrien Timber’s miss-hit shot home on 10 minutes to snare his first goal in the competition since November 2023.
Petar Sucic pulled the Serie A side level eight minutes later with a scorching strike from just outside the penalty area, but Jesus grabbed his second just past the half hour as Mikel Arteta’s men once again delivered the goods from a set piece.
The Gunners showed defensive resilience in the second period and sealed the victory six minutes from time when substitute Viktor Gyokeres finished off a lightning breakaway with an excellent strike from distance.
The result means Arsenal have won seven European matches in a row for the first time in their history and sit six points clear of Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in top spot.
Inter are nine points further back in ninth place after losing three matches in a row in the competition proper for the first time in the same season.
Next up, Arsenal host Manchester United in the Premier League on Sunday before concluding their League Phase campaign at home to Kairat the following Wednesday.
Inter welcome Pisa to the San Siro in Serie A on Friday prior to a trip to Borussia Dortmund to try and seal a top-eight finish in the UCL.

FORMER ENGLAND STRIKER ALAN SHEARER REACTS TO ARSENAL’S WIN AT INTER
"What a position they have put themselves in as a football club. Seven points clear in the Premier League, seven wins out of seven in the Champions League, semi final... ( in the league cup) - all to play for. What a position to be in," said Shearer on Amazon Prime.
He continued: "Despite the changes Arteta chose to make, it didn’t make a difference at all. I thought they were brilliant in the first half. They gave two chances up but they were always a threat going forward.
"In the second half it was a different performance; keep it tight at the back, be patient and restrict those chances."
He added: "It was another impressive performance and they are looking very, very good."
