LIVERPOOL CRUISE PAST QARABAG WITH 6-0 ROUT TO SEAL THEIR PLACE IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE TOP EIGHT
A brace from Alexis MacAllister alongside goals from Florian Wirtz, Mo Salah, Hugo Ekitike and Federico Chiesa saw Liverpool to a comfortable win at Anfield.
The win means Liverpool finish third in the league standings and book their place in the knockout stage.
After Qarabag started the brighter of the two sides, Liverpool quickly settled a tense crowd as MacAllister headed home the opener from a corner in the 15th minute.
One quickly became two seven in the 21st minute as Ekitike danced past a number of Qarabag players before laying the ball off to Wirtz who slotted his effort into the bottom corner.
Liverpool had a number of chances to extend their lead before the break but the Azerbaijani side held them out.

Five minutes into the second half, Salah was brought down outside the box and from the resulting free kick, he fired in Liverpool’s third finding the top corner.
The goals didn’t stop there in a rampant second half display for the Reds as Ekitike seized upon a defensive error to score a wonderful solo goal in the 57th minute.
Another defensive error led to the ball falling to MacAllister in the box who rounded the keeper to add a fifth just four minutes later.
Substitute Chiesa sealed the demolition after Virgil Van Dijk strided forward to play him in as the Italian placed his effort into the bottom corner.
After a tense opening, it turned into a rampant evening for Arne Slot’s side to conclude their league phase.

WHAT A BALL FROM SALAH
The Egyptian gets the ball on the right and almost dinks a perfect ball into the path of MacAllister who races into the box unmarked.
