Harry Kane was at the centre of it all as he made history to help Bayern Munich thrash Stuttgart 3-0 on Saturday to win the DFB Pokal for the first time since 2020.

The England captain scored all three goals in the final in Berlin as he cemented his place as one of the club's most prolific strikers in modern history.

With the scores level at half-time, Kane headed Bayern in front after 55 minutes before he showed great movement in the box to finish excellently and double the Bundesliga champions' lead.

Kane then slotted home a penalty in added time to add gloss to the scoreline and force his way into an exclusive club.

He became the fourth player to score three goals in a DFB Pokal final after Hamburg's Uwe Seeler in 1963, Bayern's Roland Wohlfarth in 1986 and Borussia Dortmund's Robert Lewandowski in 2012.

"Knockout games this year have been big and I've been able to help the team in a lot of situations and they've been able to help me," a jubilant Kane said after the game.

"Going into this final I felt that it was my responsibility as much as anyone to get us over the line. I know I'm going to get chances and I did again today. To score a hat-trick in a final is such a special feeling and it's just memories I will remember forever."

Bayern beat Wehen Wiesbaden, Koln, Union Berlin, Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen and Stuttgart on their run to a 21st German Cup.

Kane scored 10 goals across the six games, with only Gerd Muller scoring more in a cup campaign for Bayern with 11 goals in 1976/77.

Kane also scored in every round, including the final, which makes him only the third player to do so in a single campaign.

Dieter Muller did it for Koln in the 1976/77 season, while the Stuttgart Kickers' Dirk Kurtenbach completed the feat 10 years later.

"I'm so happy, I'm so proud of the team," Kane added.

"It's been a tough season, a lot of effort has gone into it and we wanted to finish with a performance like we did today.

"To win 3-0 and to play the way we did, it's a credit to everyone. I'm excited for the fans; it's been too long since we held this cup.

"It's my first one, my first experience of Berlin and what a way to start."

The victory capped off a stellar week for Kane, who was confirmed as England captain for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
