Italy 2-1 Albania: Luciano Spalletti's holders edge to victory despite conceding fastest goal in Euros history

Italy had to come from behind to get their European Championship defence off to a winning start, after conceding the fastest goal in the tournament's history to Albania. The Azzurri recovered via quickfire goals from Alessandro Bastoni and Nicolo Barella as they fended off a late surge by their dogged opponents. Earlier in Group B, Spain beat Croatia 3-0.
