Netherlands v France result - Les Bleues run riot to top group, as the Dutch suffer elimination

France go through to the Euro 2025 quarter-finals as Group D winners after an eventually comfortable 5-2 win over Netherlands.

The result ensures Laurent Bonadei's side progress with a 100% record from three games after also dispatching England and Wales 2-1 and 4-1 respectively.

Andries Jonker's side deservedly led 2-1 at the break after Les Bleues made a sluggish start in Basel, thanks to a strike from Victoria Pelova and Selma Bacha's own goal, following Sandie Toletti's opener.

France were much improved after the break and scored four unanswered goals through Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Delphine Cascarino's brace, and Sakina Karchaoui's penalty.

Cascarino's first was the pick of the bunch with a stunning long-range strike, as France ruthlessly capitalised on some sloppy second-half Dutch defending.

Bonadei's side return to Basel on July 19 for a quarter-final clash against Germany, while second-placed England play Sweden in Zurich two days earlier.

As for the Dutch, they exit at the group stage for only the second time in their history.

England, rather emphatically.

Goals from Georgia Stanway, Ella Toone, Lauren Hemp, Alessia Russo, Beth Mead and Aggie Beever-Jones secured a 6-1 win over Wales, who scored a consolation through Hannah Cain.
