Barcelona stars Dani Olmo and Pau Victor have been left in limbo after a war of words between the club and La Liga. Spain's top flight have accused Barcelona of failing to present "any alternative, in accordance with La Liga's economic rules, that allow the registration of players from Jan. 2", but Barcelona have denied the claim.

Barcelona have denied La Liga's claim that the Catalan club failed to extend Dani Olmo's registration to play during the second half of the season.
Olmo joined Barcelona for a reported £47 million fee from German club RB Leipzig last summer, after the midfielder helped Spain win UEFA Euro 2024.
However, the five-time European champions were only given a temporary registration to provide them with enough time to comply with the Spanish league's financial fair play rules.
Olmo's future remains unclear, with Barcelona seemingly unable to re-register a player twice in a single season.
"As of Dec. 31, Barcelona have not presented any alternative, in accordance with La Liga's economic rules, that allow the registration of players from Jan. 2," read the statement from La Liga.
Olmo is not the only Barcelona player to have been affected by the administrative issue.

Pau Victor appears to be in the same boat, having joined the club in a reported €2.5 million transfer from Girona.
The statement from Barcelona claims that the club have already applied for new licences for the duo.
"FC Barcelona informs that it has applied for a new license for the players Daniel Olmo and Pau Victor to the Spanish Football Federation," the statement read.

"Club would like to deny having requested or received any moratorium to any governing body for these inscriptions."
Olmo's agent, Andy Bara, stressed that Olmo is committed to staying at Barcelona in a statement on Tuesday.
"The decision made by Dani is to stay at Barcelona as he wants play for Barca," Bara told ESPN.
"We are not considering any other option. Dani wants to play for Barcelona."
