Real Madrid close on Konate
According to Portuguese publication Fichajes, Liverpool centre-back Ibrahima Konate could be set to agree a deal to sign for Real Madrid at the end of the season.
The France defender is in the final year of his contract on Merseyside, and is widely reported to have so far rejected new contract offers amid interest from Los Blancos.
The Fichajes report reads: "The Real Madrid team's interest in Ibrahima Konate is not new, although this time there appears to be an agreement in principle that will definitely bring him closer to the Santiago Bernabeu. The board is considering the opportunity to add a top-level player without paying a single euro in transfer fees.
"Real Madrid, aware of the need to strengthen its defence in the long term, has moved quickly to secure Ibrahima Konate. The deal, which runs until 2031, would allow the club to secure a young, powerful centre-back with experience at the European elite.
"The 2025 summer transfer window has just closed, but people in the Spanish capital are already thinking about the next one. The arrival of Ibrahima Konate would be one of the biggest incentives for fans eagerly awaiting the Frenchman to wear the white shirt."

Arsenal make Saliba contract offer
According to France’s RMC Sport, Arsenal have offered defender William Saliba a five-year contract extension amid interest from Real Madrid.
The France international is in the final two years of his contract, which expires in 2027.
RMC Sports reports: "Arsenal recently offered [Saliba] a five-year extension. The idea is to continue moving forward arm in arm together for the long term.
"For the moment, discussions are ongoing between the different parties, and we cannot yet speak of an agreement. The Gunners hope to obtain a positive response. They are well aware that several big guns are following the French defender with interest.
"As explained on our site at the beginning of the year, Real Madrid is monitoring his situation. For the moment, William Saliba remains focused on Arsenal and France, for whom he has high ambitions."

Eriksen signs for Wolfsburg
Christian Eriksen has signed for Bundesliga side Wolfsburg upon leaving Manchester United at the end of last season.
The 33-year-old has put pen to paper on a contract that runs until 2027.
"Wolfsburg is my first club in the Bundesliga - I'm really looking forward to this new adventure. I'm convinced we can achieve something together," said Eriksen. "I immediately sensed that [Wolfsburg manager] Paul Simonis has a clear vision for the team and for me personally.
"The fact that there are several familiar faces in the squad from the Danish national team makes Wolfsburg a particularly attractive proposition for me."

Man Utd keen on Debast
Another Fichajes report has claimed that Manchester United are interested in signing Sporting’s Zeno Debast in the January window.
The 21-year-old was signed by Ruben Amorim last summer for a fee in the region of €15.5m (£13.4m) plus €5.5m (£4.7m) in add-ons from Anderlecht and has gone on to feature regularly for the Portuguese outfit.
According to Fichajes: "The Old Trafford club is preparing an offer of around €40m (£34m) to sign Zeno Debast. The Portuguese club acquired him for €15m just a year ago, which would represent a significant capital gain if they decide to accept.
"The problem for Manchester United is that the winter transfer window always complicates deals. Sporting won't want to lose Zeno Debast mid-season, as he's a key player in the manager's plan."
