Two goals in stoppage time spared Arsenal’s blushes and saw them move level on points with Manchester City, as Liverpool went top with a hard-fought win over Wolves.
It looked like being a routine win for The Gunners when they took a two-goal lead in at the break, but a James Justin brace in the second half almost earned Leicester a hard-fought point.
But in the fourth minute of stoppage time, Mikel Arteta’s side found a way to win when Wilfred N'Didi turned the ball into his own net from an Arsenal corner before Kai Havertz made it 4-2 to add some gloss to the result.
After City dropped points against Newcastle in the early kick-off, Arsenal went into the encounter at the Emirates with a chance to gain ground on their rivals.
Goals from Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard in a dominant first half gave no indication of what was to come in north London.
Less than two minutes after the restart, Justin’s header deflected off Havertz and past David Raya before the Leicester man curled in a stunning first-time volley with the outside of his right foot to make it 2-2 just past the hour mark.
Arsenal came up against an inspired Mads Hermansen in goal as they probed for a winner and the Dane’s efforts looked sure to earn his side a share of the spoils as the game ticked into the red.
But The Foxes’ resistance was eventually broken when N'Didi inadvertently nudged the ball into his own net from an Arsenal corner, before Havertz got on the scoresheet to make it 4-2 in the dying seconds.
The result means Arsenal are now level on 14 points with City, while Leicester remain 16th.

Salah penalty takes Liverpool top
A Mohamed Salah penalty proved decisive as Liverpool claimed a 2-1 win over Wolves to edge a point clear of City and Arsenal at the top of the Premier League.
Ibrahim Konate’s towering header gave The Reds the lead at the end of the first half but the hosts levelled shortly after the break.
It was Konate’s error that allowed Jorgen Strand Larsen to keep the ball alive in the box before it was bundled home by Rayan Ait-Nouri.
Just five minutes later and Liverpool’s lead was restored. Nelson Semedo clumsily pulled Diogo Jota down in the box and Salah made no mistake from the spot.
Curtis Jones went closest to adding a third for Liverpool in the final 30 minutes, but Arne Slot’s side held out comfortably to secure all three points.
Palmer on fire as Chelsea continue hot streak
Cole Palmer continued his sensational start to the season by scoring four first-half goals as Chelsea beat Brighton 4-2 at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues lost their opening game of the campaign to reigning champions City, but have now won four of their last five, scoring 15 goals in that run.
They fell behind when Georginio Rutter struck early for the visitors but a 10-minute Palmer hat-trick put the hosts in command.
In a thrilling opening period, Carlos Noom Quomah Baleba drew one back for The Seagulls in the 34th minute, but Palmer found the net for a fourth time just before the break to restore the two-goal cushion.

Nicolas Jackson and Palmer both had gilt-edged chances to add a fifth for Chelsea, but neither could find the target.
But the three points are all that matter, and they now have Chelsea sitting third and just a point adrift of City and Arsenal.
McNeil brace eases pressure on Dyche
A Dwight McNeil second-half brace saw Everton come from behind to beat Crystal Palace 2-1 and ease pressure on Toffees boss Sean Dyche.
It was a first win of the season in the Premier League for the Merseyside outfit, who are out of the relegation zone for now but could find themselves among the bottom three again after the Sunday fixtures.
And it required some McNeil magic after Marc Guehi’s 10th-minute goal gave Palace the lead at the break.
Less than two minutes into the second period, the striker unleashed a left-footed curler from outside the box that gave Dean Henderson no chance in the Palace goal.

Highlights: Gordon rescues draw for Newcastle as Man City drop points again

His second was equally well taken and arguably more important as he controlled the ball at the back post before firing a low volley into the net to claim all three points.
The result means Everton are now above Palace in the table. The Toffees face Newcastle next before fixtures against Ipswich Town, Fulham, Southampton and West Ham, a run that could determine Dyche’s future at the club, while The Eagles welcome Liverpool next Saturday - with the game live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
Soucek rescues point for Hammers
Tomas Soucek was on hand to bundle the ball home to earn West Ham a 1-1 draw at Brentford.
The Bees led after just 38 seconds through Bryan Mbuemo’s first-time volley but failed to build on that early momentum and find a second.
Mohammed Kudus was denied by Mark Flekken in the first half, while there was a chance for Michail Antonio that went begging, but The Hammers were rewarded for their pressure after the break.
Soucek and Jarrod Bowen linked up in the Brentford box before Antonio’s weak effort fell into the path of the Czech midfielder, who managed to nudge it home in the 54th minute.
Neither side could find a winner, with the result leaving Brentford on seven points, two clear of West Ham.
Fulham claim narrow win over Forest
A tight contest at the City Ground was decided by a Raul Jimenez penalty as Fulham continued their excellent start to the season with a 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest.
In what was an entertaining game, it was a VAR intervention that proved decisive after referee Josh Smith initially waved off Fulham’s penalty claims.
Up stepped Jimenez to coolly lift it over Matz Sels and bag his 50th Premier League goal.
The hosts searched for an equaliser and felt they should have had a penalty of their own when Anthony Elanga was brought down in the box, but this time the VAR determined not enough contact had been made.
Forest continued to come forward and after a brilliant run Callum Hudson-Odoi ought to have found the net but blazed his shot over the bar as Fulham hung on for a win that takes them up to sixth in the table.
