Jack Grealish has ruled himself out for the rest of the 2025/26 season with the winger's chances of making Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup in tatters. The 30-year-old, on loan at Everton from Manchester City, underwent surgery on a foot stress fracture sustained in January and has now posted on social media that he is "gutted" that his campaign has come to an early end.

Jack Grealish said he is "gutted" that his season has been ended by surgery on a foot stress fracture.
The winger, on loan at Everton from Manchester City, sustained the injury in his side's 1-0 victory over Aston Villa in January.
Grealish had recorded two goals and six assists in 20 Premier League appearances for The Toffees this term. David Moyes's team face Bournemouth on Tuesday evening, live on TNT Sports and discovery+.
The procedure will almost certainly mean Grealish will not be named in Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Grealish wrote on Instagram: "Didn’t want the season to end like this but that’s football, gutted. Surgery done and now all focus on getting back fit.
"I know for sure I will come back fitter, stronger and better than before. The support I’ve had since coming to this unbelievable club has meant the world to me.
"The staff, my team-mates and especially the fans have been incredible and I absolutely love representing this club. I’ll be backing the lads all the way and doing everything I can to get back as soon as possible.
"Thank you again for all the love, it means so much."
Moyes had previously suggested that he thought Grealish's foot problem would require surgery and the Everton manager expressed his disappointment at losing "such an important" player.
"We believe he's probably going to need surgery but that's still not absolutely confirmed, but it probably rules him out for the rest of the season, yes," said Moyes in a press conference on January 30.

"It's really disappointing for the player and for the club and all of us here. He's such an important part, he's a big character, big experience for us.
"We'll miss him. He's done a lot of really good things for us."
Everton welcome Bournemouth to the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Tuesday evening as part of a bumper midweek of Premier League action on TNT Sports and discovery+.

Speaking ahead of the visit of The Cherries on Tuesday, Moyes said that he was excited by the prospect of January signing Tyrique George making his first home appearance - albeit he played down comparisons to Grealish.
George debuted off the bench shortly before Everton overturned a one-goal deficit to win 2-1 away to Fulham on Saturday.
"I am [excited about what he can bring]," Moyes said of the loan recruit from Chelsea. "I've seen bits of him which I like but, again, he's a young player. It's not as if we're getting a Jack Grealish in, someone who's played three or four hundred games and knows how to play in the big occasions.
"He's still a young boy, so we've got to be careful that we don't expect too much from him. He's someone who still needs to get used to the players and the club, but what he is showing at the moment, we've been quite impressed by him."
