Arsenal 1-0 Crystal Palace result - Eberechi Eze wins match against former club as Gunners increase lead at the top of the Premier League

Eberechi Eze scored the only goal of the game against his former club, as Arsenal edged out Crystal Palace with a 1-0 win at the Emirates - their 700th victory in the Premier League.

The only goal of the game came from yet another Arsenal set-piece, as Rice floated a free-kick into the box, and the former Palace hero was on hand to rifle home a fine improvised volley.

It was rather harsh on Palace following an impressive first-half display, but Oliver Glasner's side never really threatened David Raya during the 90 minutes.

The Gunners will certainly play better football this season, but the importance of this win cannot be underestimated after defeats for both Liverpool and Manchester City this weekend.

This fourth straight Premier League win moves Mikel Arteta's side four points clear of Bournemouth at the top of the table, with Man City and Liverpool six and seven points adrift respectively.

The only blemishes on an otherwise fine afternoon were the withdrawals of William Saliba and Declan Rice due to injury.
