GYOKERES AND SAKA STAR AS ARSENAL PILE PRESSURE ON MAN CITY IN TITLE RACE
Viktor Gyokeres scored twice as leaders Arsenal moved six points clear of title rivals Manchester City with a 3-0 demolition of Fulham at Emirates Stadium.
The Swedish striker opened the scoring on nine minutes when he tapped home a brilliant, low cross from Bukayo Saka.
Gyokeres then turned provider as he fed Saka on the right side of the box to allow the winger to mark his first Premier League start since March with a near-post finish past Bernd Leno.
The Gunners had been utterly dominant and added a third in first-half stoppage time when Gyokeres nodded in his second of the match from Leandro Trossard’s cross.
The hosts controlled the second period, with one eye on their midweek UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg with Atletico Madrid, but did almost add a fourth late on when Riccardo Calafiori hit the crossbar with a header.
The result sees Arsenal extend their lead over second-placed City with three matches to play. Pep Guardiola’s side still have two games in hand that could see them pull level on points once again, but Mikel Arteta’s Gunners now have a better goal difference of plus four.
Next up, Arsenal host Atletico Madrid on Tuesday prior to visiting struggling West Ham in the Premier League on Sunday.
Fulham, who remain 10th, are at home to Bournemouth next Saturday.

REACTION AS ARSENAL LAY DOWN TITLE GAUNTLET WITH STRONG WIN OVER FULHAM
”It’s massive," said former Arsenal star, Paul Merson on Sky Sports.
"They had to win these two home games (Newcastle and Fulham) massively. They’ve won them and now it’s over to Man City to play the next two games; the pressure is on Man City.
"All Arsenal can do is what they’ve done over the last two home games."
On whether the title momentum is now back with Arsenal: ”For the next four or five days until Man City play Everton and Brentford.
"But the pressure is on them now. All Arsenal could do is win these two games and fair play to them. After that absolute nightmare against Bournemouth, to bounce back the way they have and got these two results is massive - massive."
