MATCH REPORT
Brajan Gruda scored in the 89th minute as Brighton came from a goal behind to stun Manchester City, with a 2-1 victory on the south coast.
Rodri started his first game for City in nearly a year and played the full 90 minutes but was unable to inspire his team to victory having taken an early lead.
Erling Haaland made amends for missing some early chances by breaking the deadlock when he poked the ball in from close range after good work from Omar Marmoush.
The Seagulls were restricted to limited opportunities with James Trafford saving well from Kaoru Mitoma and Yankuba Minteh.
Fabian Hurzeler made a quadruple substitution with Gruda, Georginio Rutter, James Milner and Yasin Ayari brought on in the second half and it paid off with dividends.
Matheus Nunes conceded a penalty for handball when he blocked Lewis Dunk's shot and Milner stepped up to score the spotkick.
Hurzeler's side carved out the better chances in the closing stages, with Trafford making a wonderful save to keep out Jan Paul van Hecke's header.
And Brighton snatched all three points when Gruda ran onto a through ball and rounded the keeper to score.
The result sees Pep Guardiola's City lose for the second week running following their 2-0 home defeat to Tottenham last weekend, while the Seagulls record their first Premier League win of the season.
DEJA VU FOR CITY
Last season during that horror run of form in November, Haaland gave City the lead before two late goals from Pedro and O'Reilly, both of whom have since left the club, gave the Seagulls the three points.
And it was the same story again today, with two late goals for Brighton giving them victory.
