Chelsea 3-0 Wolverhampton Wanderers result - Gusto, Joao Pedro and Pedro Neto on target for Blues as managerless Wolves struggle at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea eased past managerless Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-0 to move up to second in the Premier League table.

Having been booed off at half-time after a lethargic first-half display, The Blues finally made the breakthrough six minutes after the restart when Malo Gusto headed home from Alejandro Garnacho’s cross to score his first goal for the club.

Exciting teenager Estevao made an immediate impact from the bench, with his cross swept in by Joao Pedro to double the lead on 65 minutes.

Further pain was inflicted on interim manager James Collins when former Wolves forward Pedro Neto tapped in from another Garnacho delivery for his second assist of the night.

Enzo Maresca’s side are now six points behind leaders Arsenal, while Wolves - who are reportedly close to appointing Middlesbrough manager Rob Edwards - remain bottom of the table and still without a victory this season.

Three second-half goals for Chelsea banished the memory of their lethargic first-half display. The Stamford Bridge faithful will go home happy, with their team now second in the table and just six points behind leaders Arsenal.

But it was another night of misery for the travelling Wolves supporters, who will hope imminent new manager Rob Edwards can somehow reverse the club’s fortunes - and fast. Two points and a minus-18 goal difference after 11 games shows the monumental task facing the current Middlesbrough boss.
