MAN UNITED MISS THE CHANCE TO RISE TO FIFTH AS BOURNEMOUTH SNARE EPIC DRAW
Super sub Junior Kroupi grabbed a late equaliser as Bournemouth claimed an astonishing 4-4 draw with Manchester United in an instant Premier League classic at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils got their reward for a strong start when Amad Diallo nodded in from close range on 13 minutes to mark his last club outing prior to AFCON with a goal.
Bournemouth had been a clear second best but pulled level on 40 minutes when Antoine Semenyo polished off a surging run from the right with a crisp finish to end a sequence of seven Premier League games without netting.
However, the home side restored their advantage in first-half stoppage time when Casemiro’s far-post header somehow squirmed past goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic.
Bournemouth responded straight from the restart through Evanilson’s leveller before Marcus Tavernier curled in a delicious free-kick on 52 minutes.
United toiled but suddenly embarked upon their own turnaround with two goals in two minutes as Bruno Fernandes’ spectacular free-kick and Matheus Cunha’s clinical finish put them in front for a third time with 11 minutes to go.
However, The Cherries pulled level through Kroupi six minutes from time and almost won it in stoppage time, but substitute David Brooks was twice denied by Senne Lammens.
The result sees Man United climb to sixth, level on points with Crystal Palace in fifth and two points off Chelsea in fourth spot.
Bournemouth’s winless run stretches to seven top-flight matches but they move up to 13th.
Next up, Man United visit in-form Aston Villa on Sunday. Bournemouth host Burnley on Saturday.

FORMER MAN UNITED DEFENDER GARY NEVILLE REACTS TO AN EIGHT-GOAL THRILLER
"Absolute madness. The game ebbed and flowed, punch for punch and end to end, particularly in the second half," he said on Sky Sports.
"Tavernier and Bournemouth just after half time, explosive out of the blocks, but it was a game you could not call. I’m not quite sure who is going to be happier at the end.
"I kept saying through that game, I could live with how Manchester United played, but what you can’t get away from is it’s seven points dropped in their last three games at home.
"For Bournemouth, who’ve had a tough run lately, they will be delighted as they travel back down south, that they’ve come back (to earn a draw).
"They were beaten well in the first half in performance terms, but it’s equal and there’s just a little bit of a numbness from what everyone has watched around this ground."
