SPURS EARN THREE HUGE POINTS IN BID FOR PREMIER LEAGUE SURVIVAL
Substitute Joao Palhinha's goal was the difference as Spurs beat Wolves 1-0 to claim their first Premier League victory since December 2026.
Spurs started the match firmly on the front foot, pressing high up the pitch with intensity, affording Wolves' players very little time on the ball.
The first half, though, began to fizzle out around the 25-minute mark, with neither side able to create anything meaningful in the final third.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side, already without the likes of Guglielmo Vicario, Destiny Udogie and Mohammed Kudus among others, were dealt yet another injury blow when Domnic Solanke went down and had to come off in the 40th minute, with the Englishman replaced by Richarlison.
The Italian made another attacking change at the start of the second half, introducing Mathys Tel for Randal Kolo Muani in the hopes of sparking some life into the Spurs attack.
Spurs' first real chance of the afternoon came five minutes into the second half when Xavi Simons received the ball on the left-hand side before cutting in and blazing an effort over the crossbar.
Things went from bad to worse on the injury front for the visitors when Simons went down injured, with the Dutchman seemingly jarring his knee, forcing him to be substituted.
Spurs, though, continued to push forward and in the 82nd minute they found the breakthrough. Richarlison fired an effort towards goal and Palhinha was on hand to stick out a leg and divert the effort into the back of the net, cueing pandemonium in the away end.
Antonin Kinsky was called upon in the dying moments of the match, but the Spurs keeper did well to dive across to save Joao Gomes' free kick.
It's a victory which takes Spurs onto 34 points, but they still remain in the relegation zone after Callum Wilson scored a last-gasp winner against Everton for West Ham United. Spurs sit two points behind the Hammers, with Aston Villa, Leeds United, Chelsea and Everton still to play.
