The thrills continue on Sunday. The 2pm fixtures see Brighton host newly-crowned Europa League champions Aston Villa as Manchester City play Bournemouth at home in their first Premier League game since the summer departure of legendary manager Pep Guardiola.
Newcastle United and Liverpool then square off in a blockbuster clash at St James’ Park before Chelsea travel to Fulham on Monday night to round out the opening weekend.
TNT Sports and HBO Max will also bring you two full rounds of midweek fixtures during a crucial time of the season. The first of these will be in February and will be followed by another in March.
The new Premier League season is starting a week later than usual due to the expanded 48-team World Cup, which finishes on July 19. That will leave 33 days between the World Cup final and the start of the new Premier League campaign.
During the congested festive period, all clubs will have at least a 60-hour break between matches, while there will be a more packed line-up of Boxing Day fixtures.
The season concludes on Sunday, May 30, with a full line-up of games commencing at 16:00.
