Internazionale 2-2 Napoli result - Scott McTominay scores brace and Antonio Conte's sent off in top-of-the-table Serie A clash at San Siro

Scott McTominay was the Napoli hero once again as his superb brace sealed a point in a pulsating 2-2 draw with Internazionale.

The Nerazzurri became the first side in which McTominay has scored against in three separate Serie A games, as Antonio Conte's side earned a well-deserved point at San Siro.

They twice pegged Inter back, who moved 1-0 and 2-1 up thanks to Federico Dimarco's strike and Hakan Calhanoglu's penalty.

The evening started very differently for McTominay, whose pocket was picked at the start of a devastating Inter break that resulted in Marcus Thuram laying the ball into the path of Dimarco to fire home a clinical angled strike.

But McTominay would atone for that error, providing a brilliant first-time left-footed finish from Eljif Elmas' cross to restore parity.

Napoli began the second half brightly, with Rasmus Hojlund firing wide after racing through one-on-one with Yann Sommer, before Giovanni Di Lorenzo got his header horribly wrong in a separate chance.

Cristian Chivu's men would make Napoli pay for their wastefulness from the penalty spot after Amir Rrahmani was penalised for treading on Henrikh Mkhitaryan's foot in the box.

Conte was left enraged by the decision and was shown a straight red card but he couldn't change the outcome and Calhanoglu converted from the spot to leave Inter on course for all three points.

McTominay would have the final say though, providing an instinctive first-time finish from deep inside the box to keep Napoli firmly in the hunt for back-to-back titles.

They move up to third with this point and are just four adrift of league leaders Inter.

And it was an ultimately frustrating night for Chivu's side, who have now failed to win any of their 13 matches against Napoli, AC Milan and Juventus since the start of last season (D6, L7).
