Juventus 0-0 AC Milan result - Christian Pulisic misses penalty as Rossoneri who miss chance to go top of Serie A

Christian Pulisic skied a second-half penalty as Juventus and AC Milan shared the points in a cagey 0-0 draw at the Allianz Stadium.

Milan knew a win would send them top but both sides struggled to create chances in a cagey first half.

Juventus came closest early in the second half, Federico Gatti forcing an excellent save from point-blank range by Mike Maignan minutes before Pulisic's penalty miss.

Although the game opened up in the second half, with Rafael Leao missing two good chances, neither side could find a breakthrough and the match finished goalless.

Elsewhere in Europe, this bizarre moment happened. Thoughts?

A few whistles from the crowd after the full-time whistle there. Juventus remain unbeaten but their fifth consecutive draw leaves them fourth. I Bianconeri really struggled to create chances out there with the only clear-cut opportunity falling to Federico Gatti whose shot was excellently saved by Mike Maignan.

As for Milan, on paper this is a valuable point on the road but they will feel they have missed out on more. They had the extra rest going into the match and Christian Pulisic's missed penalty was two points thrown away.

To add insult to injury, Rafael Leao had two golden chances to break the deadlock off the bench but his finishing let him down at the crucial moment.

Juventus then get forward and the ball bounces around before Thuram blazes over.

Cambiaso crosses, Tomori heads clear. Filip Kostic now comes on for Rugani and that is certainly an attacking change.

The way this match is going now though, it appears both sides look happy to take the draw. Milan are the away team, but Juventus had a quick turnaround after their midweek Champions League match.

Leao now bursts through, but his finish is scuffed and easily saved!

It's seven shots to three in Milan's favour in the second half. Can they find a winner to move top?

Cambiaso shoots for Juventus but it is straight at Maignan. Juve then try a long throw but the ball is back with Di Gregorio within ten seconds. Disappointing.

Pulisic's night is done. His missed penalty will haunt him a little as he is replaced by former Chelsea forward Christopher Nkunku.

Saelemaekers get the ball on the edge of the box but skies it. Milan look more likely to get the winner at the moment.

As I write that, Juventus counter, but Openda slashes the ball wide from the edge of the box.

Vlahovic is out of contract next summer and nearly went to Milan this summer. What can he do tonight?

Pulisic curls in a lethal cross and it falls to Leao at the far post. He has time to control the ball and shoot but puts it wide from six yards out!

He has to score those.

Leao spots Di Gregorio off his line and shoots from inside his own half, but puts it wide with the keeper scrambling.

Daniele Rugani is down feeling his hamstring. Juventus make a triple change, bringing off Conceicao, Yildiz and David for Vlahovic, Openda and Thuram.

That will be Gimenez's last action. He and Youssouf Fofana are replaced by Raphael Leao and England international Ruben Loftus-Cheek.

Can either of those two inject some quality into this match?

Fofana fizzes a shot straight at Di Gregorio who spills it but is able to regather. Bartesaghi then pulls down Conceicao after getting nutmegged and is booked for his troubles.

Gimenez backheels it to Saelemaekers but the cross is poor. Gimenez has had a very strong game so far but you feel he has been let down by his teammates a fair bit.

The penalty was an absolute gift after Kelly needlessly wrestled Gimenez to the ground, but that miss is an absolute gift to Juventus too.

Milan look like they are driven by that miss though and are pressing forward as Kelly swings a boot at Fofana to give away a free-kick in a dangerous position.

Gimenez shoots, and I think that flicks a Milan head on its way and needs to be punched clear by Di Gregorio.

He sends Di Gregorio the wrong way, but skies it over the bar!

Bartesaghi now gets the chance to attack and pulls the ball back into a dangerous spot but there is no red and black shirt in the box.

Modric floats the ball forward to Gimenez who goes down under a challenge from Kelly and the referee gives a penalty!

Conceicao squares up Bartesaghi on the right hand side and wins a corner. That has been a very good battle to watch to be fair.

The corner bounces about the box in the second phase and falls to Gatti with a free shot from six yards out but Maignan keeps himself big and makes an unbelievable save!

Manuel Locatelli then becomes the second player to enter the book for bringing down Modric.

Judging by Adam Summerton and Dom Hutchinson's comments at half time, we have been watching very different matches tonight in terms of entertainment

A win for either side tonight will put them right at the business end of the Serie A table. However, this early on in the season, both sides would see this as a valuable point should the match end in a draw.

As a neutral, I wouldn't mind seeing a goal or two. Or at least a clear-cut chance.
