EXTRA TIME FIRE POWER SENDS SPURS THROUGH
An extra time own goal followed by Dejan Kulusevski and Brennan Johnson strikes was enough for Tottenham to earn a place in the FA Cup fourth round with a 3-0 win against non-league Tamworth.
Despite sitting 96 places below their Premier League opponents in the football pyramid Tamworth provided a stern test for Spurs during normal time.
James Maddison had several opportunities thwarted by goalkeeper Jas Singh, whose wife had given birth the previous day.
Tamworth will reflect on a few chances they had to win the tie, with defender Jordan Cullinane-Liburd seeing his late header drop wide.
However, Spurs had the advantage of bringing on Heung-Min Son and Dejan Kulusevski in extra time.
A short free-kick tricked tired minds and resulted in Nathan Tshikuna bundling in an own goal.
Spurs were then in full control and Kulusevski and Johnson netted to put the game beyond any doubt.
Tottenham are into the fourth round and will have to be better when they travel to Arsenal on Wednesday night, live on TNT Sports.

SPURS BOSS KNEW SIDE WOULD ‘FINISH STRONGLY’
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou credited his side for ‘staying calm’ and knew they would finish the game strongly.
"It was a challenging game, as we expected it to be," said Postecoglou to ITV Sport.
"Credit to Tamworth who made it hard for us. With the surface it was always a matter of staying calm, being persistent in our football.
"We needed a goal, their goalkeeper pulled off a couple of saves and we had a couple of opportunities we should have done better with. We got the job done.
"We knew that we’d finish strong and you could see that they were tiring a fair bit, which would mean more space for us to play and that's what happened."

SINGH SAYS SIDE ‘SHOULD BE PROUD’
Tamworth goalkeeper Jaz Singh says his side should be proud for taking Tottenham to extra time.
"We should be proud," said goalkeeper Singh talking to ITV Sport.
"It was probably the scrappiest goal (opening goal) that they are ever going to score and it changed the game.
"The boys were unbelievable, how we defended and we had chances as well. We gave them a game, they didn’t fancy it as the game went on."

SPURS ESCAPE FA CUP TIE EMBARRASMENT
Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou will breath a sigh of relief tonight after escaping what was looking like an embarrassing defeat.
Following the joy of beating Liverpool in their League Cup semi-final first leg in midweek they failed to rise to the task at Tamworth.
The lack of depth in the Tottenham squad was once again exposed as they lacked enough class to see off a plucky Tamworth side in normal time.
The introduction of Son and Kulusevski was ultimately enough for them to progress. However, there will be lots of questions asked about this Spurs side following that display.

TAMWORTH LEFT DEFLATED
The sting may have been taken from the non-league side who should be very proud to hold out so long.
Spurs had Premier League stars on the bench ready for extra-time and they have capitalised on tired bodies and minds.
