Chelsea 7-0 Port Vale result - Merciless Premier League side put SEVEN past League One visitors to reach Emirates FA Cup semi-finals

Chelsea booked their Wembley semi-finals ticket with a thrilling 7-0 victory over League One outfit Port Vale in the Emirates FA Cup quarter-final, regaining some much-needed confidence.

Packed out for the Blues’ return from the international break, Stamford Bridge was treated to a dominant performance and a whopping seven goals from Liam Rosenior's team.

Vale’s hopes of an unlikely underdog story were scuppered just 64 seconds in as Jorrel Hato fired Chelsea in front with a half-volley after goalkeeper Joe Gauci flapped at an Estevao corner.

Joao Pedro made it 2-0 on 25 minutes, netting his 19th goal of the season across all competitions with an outstanding turn and finish from a tidy Pedro Neto cutback.

Cole Palmer, captaining Chelsea, thought he had made it 3-0 on the verge of half-time but it went down as an own goal for Jordan Lawrence-Gabriel, who got the final touch ahead of Palmer after Malo Gusto’s driven effort was parried away.

Tosin Adarabioyo thumped in a header from a dinked Gusto cross to make it 4-0 just before the hour mark, before Andrey Santos nodded in from an Estevao corner for 5-0 on 69 minutes.

Chelsea showed no sign of slowing down as Estevao, who had already struck the woodwork twice, finally got on the scoresheet on the rebound after Alejandro Garnacho had hit the post.

Garnacho then got in on the act himself, converting from the spot in stoppage time after winning a penalty.

Albeit well beaten, Port Vale can hold their heads high having taken part in the club's first FA Cup quarter-final in 72 years – and a first meeting with Chelsea in nearly a century.

For Rosenior's side, attention turns to tomorrow night’s semi-final draw, live on TNT Sports and HBO Max.

The two semi-final matches will be played on Saturday, April 25 and Sunday, April 26. They will both take place at Wembley Stadium. 

The final is scheduled for Saturday, May 16 – also at Wembley.

Chelsea’s Premier League clash with Brighton & Hove Albion, originally scheduled for Sunday, April 26, will be moved to earlier on in that week.

So then, Chelsea are in the hat for the final four, but when is the semi-final draw?
Blues fans don’t have to wait long as TNT Sports and HBO Max brings you the live coverage of the draw tomorrow afternoon, straight after the final quarter-final between West Ham and Leeds United.

The draw will get underway approximately 15 minutes after the full-time whistle at the London Stadium.

After four straight defeats before the international break, the Blues secure a much-needed morale boost.

Rosenior's side could have slowed down after scoring just a couple, but they just kept on going. Who can blame them, in fairness, as Chelsea looked to regather some confidence.

Port Vale didn't deserve such a trashing, but Chelsea were clinical today.

Gauci guesses the wrong way as Garnacho strikes into the right corner.

This is about as emphatic as it gets.

Chelsea have a chance to make it seven as the hosts are awarded a late penalty.

Magloire brings down Garnacho and the referee makes no hesitation to point to the spot.

It's been a promising debut so far for Kavuma-McQueen.

The 17-year-old has made the most of his brief cameo, advancing plenty down the right to cause trouble and win a couple of corners.

Josh Acheampong replaces Malo Gusto for Chelsea, while Tyler Magloire heads on for Port Vale in the place of Kyle John.

Estevao finally has his goal!

After hitting the post twice earlier in the game, Estevao fires in from close range to make it 6-0.

It ironically comes after Garnacho hits the woodwork himself. Estevao was then there to follow it up.

The linesman's flag initially went up to disallow it for offside, but VAR drew the lines to overturn it, awarding Estevao Chelsea's sixth.

What a moment for 17-year-old Ryan Kavuma-McQueen, who comes on for his senior Chelsea debut.

The teenager swaps in for Lavia and heads to the right flank.

It was Didier Drogba-esque from Tosin to throttle home for 4-0.

Luton Town loanee Ethon Archer, Jon Brady's first Port Vale signing, comes on to replace captain Ben Garrity for the final quarter of an hour.

Andrey Santos, who helped Rosenior's Strasbourg qualify for Europe when on loan in France, has just ended a six-month wait for a goal.

It's Santos' first since the third goal in Chelsea's 4-3 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Gauci calls for a foul as Tosin gets in the way of his punch, but his own defender was also blocking.

VAR take a brief look but Chelsea's fifth goal stands.

Now it's time for the visitors to make their first three changes.

Andre Gray, George Hall and Elijah Campbell head on, replacing Martin Sherif, Ben Waine and Liam Gordon.

Nobody is hungrier for a goal than Estevao, but he's denied by the woodwork for a second time.

The Brazilian chopped in and out to beat his man, and his reverse effort had beaten Gauci, but it rebounded back off the right post.

Chelsea are strutting their stuff, passing quickly on the edge of the area and getting to the byline as often as possible.

But Garnacho is unable to turn in the latest low cross, getting under the ball and skewing over the crossbar.

Here's how the Blues made it three to the good, with Gabriel turning into his own net just in front of Palmer.
