Man City poised to sign Cambiaso
Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso looks set to sign for Manchester City, according to the Mirror.
City are looking to replace Kyle Walker, who has joined AC Milan on loan for the rest of the season.
The paper reports: "Manchester City are closing in on a £58.7 million deal for Andrea Cambiaso after the Juventus full-back shocked his club by ruling himself out of their crunch Champions League clash with Benfica.
"City have had a £54.5 million offer for Cambiaso rejected as they look to replace Kyle Walker, with the Italian club demanding £75.5million.
"But it is believed that a compromise will be hammered out this week after Juve coach Thiago Motta revealed that the 24-year-old told the club he was still feeling the ankle injury that forced him to miss his team’s first Serie A defeat of the season at Napoli at the weekend.
"Juventus are already looking for a replacement, with Feyenoord’s David Hancko their No. 1 target."
United consider Carreras swoop
Manchester United are weighing up a swoop for Alvaro Carreras if they do not land Patrick Dorgu from Lecce.
The Sun states that United have a buy-back clause that they could exercise to sign the 21-year-old.
The paper explains: "Manchester United could bring 21-year-old defender Alvaro Fernandez Carreras back to Old Trafford if their move for Patrick Dorgu stalls.
"The Red Devils sold Carreras to Benfica in the summer after a successful loan period with the Portuguese club.
"But now they could bring him back to the Premier League by activating his £15.1m buy-back clause.
"Carreras left United for just £5m and has made 31 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring three times and registering four assists."
Brighton now ready to sell Ferguson
Brighton had originally planned to loan out young striker Evan Ferguson for the rest of the season, but things have changed.
The Athletic reports that the club are now prepared to sell the 20-year-old, linked with West Ham, Everton and Bournemouth, among others.
The website writes: "Brighton are prepared to allow Evan Ferguson to depart the club permanently in the January transfer window.
"The 20-year-old Republic of Ireland international has attracted widespread loan interest from Premier League rivals and top-flight clubs abroad, but Brighton are also open to the possibility of selling Ferguson at the right price if the circumstances suit both the club and the player.
"Brighton sources, speaking on the condition of anonymity, indicated a permanent bid for Ferguson has already been rejected.
"The Athletic reported in November that Brighton were expected to make Ferguson available for loan during the winter transfer window, while the DealSheet on January 28 cited interest from West Ham United, Everton and Bournemouth, alongside other Premier League clubs."
Chelsea want sell-on clause in Casadei deal
Chelsea look ready to sell Cesare Casadei so he gets a move back to Serie A, with Lazio, Torino and Fiorentina all keen.
The Telegraph claims that as well as a £13 million fee, the Premier League team want a significant sell-on clause in any deal.
The paper states: "Chelsea are confident of securing a significant sell-on clause in the deal that will see midfielder Cesare Casadei move back to Italy.
"Lazio, Torino and Fiorentina are all battling for the signature of Casadei, who will cost in the region of £13 million. But Chelsea are also demanding a significant sell-on clause as part of the deal, as the club still believe 22-year-old Casadei could enjoy a successful career.
"Having loaned Renato Veiga to Juventus for the remainder of the season, Chelsea are now prepared to let Casadei leave permanently."
