Manchester United are considering a bid for RB Salzburg playmaker Oscar Gloukh, who they see as a long-term replacement for Bruno Fernandes.
A report in the Manchester Evening News suggests The Red Devils are actively looking for a successor to Fernandes and they see the Israel international as a potential candidate.
The outlet also touches on United's links to Lille striker Jonathan David and Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
"United appear to be planning for the long term with a potential Bruno Fernandes replacement being identified,” reads the article.
"According to a report by Fussball.News, RB Salzburg star Oscar Gloukh has admirers at United with the view that he could be the successor to Fernandes.
"The United captain turned 30 earlier this month and therefore it makes sense for United to be looking at bringing in a replacement. Their report also adds that other Premier League clubs are interested and thus United may have to act quickly if they wish to bring in the 20-year-old Israel international."
Man Utd face competition for Robinson
Manchester United also have eyes for Fulham defender Antonee Robinson - but face stiff competition for his signature.
The Sun claims Erik ten Hag's side may move for the left-back in January.
However, the report adds: "Kop spies [Liverpool] are also on the trail of the one-time Everton prospect who would be immediate cover and a possible long-term replacement for Andy Robertson.
"Anfield chiefs have looked at left-backs around the globe but may find the solution here in the Premier League.
"Robinson, 27, is only four years younger than Robertson and one of the few experienced men who can be mentioned in the same breath as the Scot.
"One snag for Robinson might be a lack of playing time at Liverpool while United have a greater need for a starter now."
United target Simons preferred RB Leipzig move
One transfer target Manchester United missed out on in the summer was Netherlands midfielder Xavi Simons, suggests a report in the Mail.
Simons had been linked with a move to Old Trafford but instead returned to RB Leipzig for a second loan spell from his parent club Paris Saint-Germain.
However, United have reason not to give up on the 21-year-old.
"Fabrizio Romano has reported United had chased PSG's Xavi Simons and even sounded out his availability prior to him joining up with the Netherlands for Euro 2024 earlier in the summer," states the outlet.
"Romano has revealed that he did not join United because his preference was to head back to Germany, resulting in the agreement with Leipzig.
"He has been tipped, however, to take on a new adventure in the summer of 2025, potentially reigniting interest from the Old Trafford hierarchy."
