Man Utd tracking Quenda
Manchester United are considering making a move for Sporting CP teenager Geovany Quenda.
A report in the Mail suggests the 17-year-old could follow Ruben Amorim to Old Trafford. However, the deal could cost The Red Devils £84 million.
"Manchester United are reportedly planning to make a move for Sporting Lisbon starlet Geovany Quenda," states the article.
"United had already approached the Portuguese side over the player prior to Amorim's arrival.
"And they want to get a deal over the line as soon as possible with a summer transfer seen as the most likely timescale.
"Quenda recently signed a contract extension up to 2027 which saw his release clause rise from £38m to £84m."
Liverpool target Cherki
Liverpool have identified Lyon star Rayan Cherki as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah, claims a report.
Salah's contract at Anfield expires in January with a move to Saudi Arabia said to be on the cards.
And therefore The Reds are on the lookout for a replacement with Cherki a possible target.
Lyon have been handed a provisional Ligue 1 relegation by the DNCG, who oversee the finances of clubs in France, and Goal cites a report from L'Equipe which says he is a target for Liverpool.
"In preparation for the potential departure of Salah, Liverpool are reportedly targeting Lyon’s rising star Rayan Cherki, according to L'Equipe.
"Paris Saint-Germain are also closely monitoring Cherki’s situation, adding competition to Liverpool’s pursuit of the young player.
"Cherki’s current contract with Lyon runs until 2026 but includes a clause for a one-year extension if he remains at the club beyond this campaign."
Chilwell and Carreras on Man Utd shortlist
Manchester United could make a move for a left-back in the January transfer window.
A report in the Express, carrying quotes from CaughtOffside, suggests Ruben Amorim is looking at Ben Chilwell of Chelsea and Benfica’s Alvaro Carreras.
"Ruben Amorim has identified a new left-back as a priority in his first transfer window at Manchester United, with two names on the club's shortlist, according to reports," reads the article.
"There could also be departures in January to help fund the Portuguese boss' plans to reshape a squad heavily consisting of Erik ten Hag's players.
"According to CaughtOffside, a new left-back is at the top of his agenda amid uncertainty surrounding Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia.
"It's claimed that Amorim has named United academy graduate Alvaro Carreras as a player he'd like to work with, having shone in Portugal at Benfica.
"The 21-year-old joined Benfica permanently in the summer after a loan spell in the second half of last season and is thriving in Lisbon.
"United are believed to have included a £17 million buy-back clause in Carreras' contract, though, and they reportedly continue to monitor his development.
"However, he's not the only left-back on the club's radar. The report adds that United have long been admirers of £50m Chelsea outcast Ben Chilwell."
Trio battle it out for Scottish teenage twins
West Ham and Southampton are in a transfer battle with Celtic to sign twin brothers from Airdrie, claims The Sun.
Cole and Dylan Williams are both 16 and play in midfield but have yet to make their senior debuts for the Scottish Championship side.
However, the trio of clubs have seen enough in the twins to make them a transfer target.
"West Ham and Southampton are chasing Airdrie's twin sensations Cole and Dylan Williams," states the outlet.
"The Premier League clubs are battling to sign the youngsters - and want to snatch them from under Celtic’s nose.
"The midfielders, 16, can quit The Diamonds, where they are on short-term agreements.
"The pair have played for Airdrie's U18s but are yet to make senior debuts for the Scottish Championship side.
"They both starred at youth level against Celtic, who are keen, but Saints and Irons head the race.
"Both Cole and Dylan have been unused substitutes for Airdrie three times so far this season."
