Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk reportedly faces an obstacle as he is linked with a loan move to Crystal Palace, while Burnley could return to offer Ruud van Nistelrooy the manager’s job at Turf Moor. Chelsea winger Mykhaylo Mudryk has struggled to impress at Stamford Bridge, but has been linked with a loan move to Crystal Palace.

The Mirror, though, points out that Palace will need to make some adjustments to find room for the Ukrainian.

The paper explains: “Mudryk may have one exit option out of Chelsea already shut ahead of the January transfer window.

“Mudryk still has seven years remaining on his contract at Stamford Bridge but the Blues would struggle to recoup a fee close to what they paid should the winger want to find minutes elsewhere. As a result a loan would appear more likely.

“Crystal Palace have been rumoured to be interested in landing Mudryk from their London rivals. The Eagles would face some immediate obstacles however.

“Palace already have two players on loan this term. Goalkeeper Matt Turner is on loan at Selhurst Park from Nottingham Forest and the south London side have Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah until the end of the season. Chalobah poses the biggest problem, as his parent team is the Blues.

“If Oliver Glasner's side were to sign Chalobah permanently, the 25-year-old has become a mainstay in their backline, it could offer Crystal Palace the opportunity to return to the loan market.”

Premier League rules state: "Premier League clubs may not register more than two players on loan at any one time."

Burnley may consider second Van Nistelrooy attempt

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s departure from Manchester United after the arrival of Ruben Amorim has seen him linked with the Burnley vacancy.

Scott Parker is currently installed at Turf Moor, but the fourth-placed Championship side could make a move for the Dutchman - who enjoyed an unbeaten run in interim charge at Old Trafford.

The Daily Star writes: “Burnley may make another attempt to secure Ruud van Nistelrooy as their new manager despite the Dutchman previously rejecting them in favour of Manchester United.

“Van Nistelrooy, 48, was let go from his duties at Old Trafford on Monday when new manager Ruben Amorim decided to bring in his own coaching team.

“Now, Van Nistelrooy is on the hunt for his next role, having only previously managed PSV Eindhoven's reserves and senior side.”

Arsenal look for Edu replacement

The Athletic reports that Arsenal’s executives will soon consult over the candidates to replace Edu.

Andrea Berta at Atletico Madrid, Braulio Vazquez of Osasuna, Phil Giles at Brentford, Tomas Rosicky at Sparta Prague and Roberto Olabe - who made his name at Real Sociedad - are all external candidates according to The Athletic, while Jason Ayto and Per Mertesacker could be given a chance and are already at the club.

The website reports: “During this November international break, Arsenal’s football leadership team are flying to America to meet with their owners and discuss plans for 2025. After the resignation of Edu, a conversation about his replacement is likely to be top of the agenda.

“There may be internal candidates to consider. Edu’s deputy, Jason Ayto, has stepped up on an interim basis. He will be part of those discussions with the Kroenkes about transfer plans for January and beyond.

"When Edu decided to leave, he reasoned that he had built an infrastructure strong enough to withstand his departure. Edu has worked closely with Ayto for five years, and has sought to prepare him for a role as a sporting director in future. If Arsenal want continuity, Ayto appears a sensible choice.

“Another internal name to consider may be Mertesacker. The former club captain transitioned straight from his playing days into a position as academy manager, and has been in the role since 2018.”

Hermoso open to Madrid switch

Gazzetta dello Sport notes that Roma defender Mario Hermoso’s struggles in Italy mean that he is ready to consider a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Madrid are in the midst of a defensive injury crisis and are expected to be active in the January transfer market.

The Italian outlet states: “Nostalgia for Spain and desire for Real. Mario Hermoso's adventure at Roma risks ending after less than four months. 

“The defender, who arrived as a free agent at the beginning of September, does not hide his problems, and pride over the rumours that he would like to join Ancelotti's club in January to replace the injured [Eder] Militao. 

“‘Many friends have told me, it's an honour when they associate you with clubs of this type. I was in the Real Madrid Academy, and I am grateful for everything they taught me. 

“‘I am 29 years old, most of my career has been in Spain, I like La Liga football and being in your country makes everything easier. I cannot close the door to a return to Spain.’"
