Newcastle STILL short with Guehi bid
Newcastle United are £5 million short after making their third bid for Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi.
The Sun reports that Palace want £65m for the England international centre-back, with Guehi reportedly keen on the move.
The paper writes: “Newcastle remain hopeful of signing Marc Guehi after launching a third bid.
“The Magpies’ latest offer for the Crystal Palace defender matches the £60 million they paid Real Sociedad for Alexander Isak in 2022.
“SunSport believes Guehi, 24, is open to moving to St James’ Park with his wages unlikely to be an issue for Toon.
“Palace are still holding out for £65m but Newcastle are determined to get their man.”
Fulham bid for Andersen
Complicating Newcastle’s bid for Guehi is Fulham’s second bid for another Crystal Palace defender, Joachim Andersen.
The Daily Mail reports that the £25m is not enough to get Palace to sell the 28-year-old Denmark international.

The paper states: “Fulham's interest in Marc Guehi's central defensive partner Joachim Andersen complicates Newcastle's swoop for the defender.
“The west London side have tabled a second offer, worth an initial £25 million and an additional £5m in add-ons, for Denmark star Andersen, though sources insist the bid will not be enough to tempt Palace into selling.
“Palace value Andersen, 28, at £40m. The defender played for Fulham on loan from Lyon in the 2020-21 season, before joining Palace on a permanent deal that summer.
“Andersen and Guehi have been at the centre of the defensive structure at Palace for a number of years, with the latter moving to the club the same summer as his team-mate.”
Nketiah a target for Bournemouth
After the sale of Dominic Solanke to Tottenham, Bournemouth are looking at Eddie Nketiah as a potential replacement.
The decision of Marseille to sign Elye Wahi instead has given Bournemouth the chance to move in for the Arsenal man.
The Mirror explains: “Eddie Nketiah could get the chance to remain in the Premier League as Bournemouth eye a move for the Arsenal frontman.
“The Gunners had been in discussions with Marseille over a £25 million switch for the striker, but the Ligue 1 outfit have diverted their attention and are instead set to sign Elye Wahi from Lens.
“Bournemouth have now come to the party as they look to bring more firepower to the south coast. They just allowed last season's top scorer Dominic Solanke to leave for Tottenham, but now have more than £60m to play with as they seek a replacement.
“The Cherries are yet to back up their interest with an offer whilst Crystal Palace are also known to have a long-term interest in the forward. Nketiah appears to be out of favour with Mikel Arteta, who last handed him a competitive start at Fulham in December.”
Saudi Arabia keen on Vinicius transfer
The Athletic reports that representatives from the Saudi Pro League have contact with Real Madrid winger Vinicius Junior.
The Brazilian has a release clause of €1 billion, and would expect to earn more than that with the move.
The website claims: “Saudi Arabia and Vinicius Junior’s representatives have had talks over a possible move to bring the Madrid forward to the Saudi Pro League. Representatives from Saudi met with his agency weeks ago in London.
“Sources with knowledge of the situation suggested Vinicius Jr could earn more than €1 billion with the move, which would involve five years as a player and also work as an ambassador for the Gulf country, with a special focus on it hosting the 2034 men’s World Cup – although a Saudi Pro League source denied figures this high were on the table. Madrid have made it clear they want to keep the 24-year-old winger, who has a contract until 2027 with a release clause of €1 billion.”
