The stars of the Premier League will shine on the international stage when the FIFA World Cup gets underway in Canada, Mexico and the USA from Thursday, June 11.

In the past, the top international talents have been reserved for the elite Premier League teams, but that is not the case in 2026.
Bournemouth have a player in the Brazil squad, a Crystal Palace star could lead the line for France, and the likes of Sunderland and Brighton & Hove Albion are represented in the Dutch camp.
It is sure to be a World Cup to remember, but what will the impact on the Premier League be?
Let us have a closer look at the England-based stars who will be there, and if their inclusion could influence the title race and relegation battle during the 2026/27 campaign.
Which Premier League clubs have the most players at the World Cup?
Arsenal may have ended the season as champions for the first time in 22 years, but they will not be the most well-represented English club across the Atlantic this summer.
That honour goes to Manchester City, who will have 19 players at the tournament, despite finishing seven points behind The Gunners in the table.

City will be represented in 12 national teams at the tournament, from World Cup stalwarts like Spain (Rodri) and France (Rayan Cherki) to less-experienced nations like Norway (Erling Haaland) and Algeria (Rayan Ait-Nouri).
They are also represented in the England squad, with James Trafford, Marc Guehi, Nico O'Reilly and John Stones all set to play a role for The Three Lions in the weeks ahead.
City are followed by Mikel Arteta's side in second place, as Arsenal will have 16 players at the tournament.
They are spread across 10 countries, with the sizeable Arsenal contingent set to represent Spain (David Raya, Martin Zubimendi and Mikel Merino) as well as Brazil (Gabriel Magalhaes and Gabriel Martinelli).

The England quartet of Eberechi Eze, Declan Rice, Noni Madueke and Bukayo Saka will be hoping to add a World Cup to their growing trophy cabinet this summer.
Manchester United will have 13 players at the tournament, including the English duo of Kobbie Mainoo and Marcus Rashford.
You would assume another one of the established 'top six' would have the fourth-most players, but you would be wrong.
That distinction goes to UEFA Conference League winners Crystal Palace, who, unlike Real Madrid, have a player in the Spain squad (Yeremy Pino), Dean Henderson in the England cohort, and 10 other stars at the tournament.

Liverpool may have no players representing The Three Lions this summer, but they will still have 11 stars at the tournament.
Chelsea have 11 too, including England right-back Reece James, while Tottenham Hotspur have nine stars travelling to Canada, Mexico and the USA.
Aston Villa have qualified for next season's UEFA Champions League, and they have a 10-strong contingent at the World Cup, including England trio Ezri Konsa, Morgan Rogers and Ollie Watkins.
Sunderland can also hold their heads up high with 11 players set to travel, despite the 2025/26 campaign being their first back in the Premier League.
Will the World Cup impact the 2026/27 Premier League title race?
It goes without saying that a summer World Cup increases the risk of injury and impacts on players' chances to recover.
Each national team's performance at the tournament could also affect how long it takes for a club's players to return for pre-season.
Arsenal could struggle in that regard, as they have two players representing Brazil, four stars playing for England and William Saliba expected to start for France.

In stark contrast, many of City's best players represent nations that are, at best, dark horses.
Haaland's Norway are in the 'group of death', Jeremy Doku's Belgium are not the force they once were, and first-choice goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma will not even be at the tournament.
Liverpool could also be in trouble if Netherlands go deep into the tournament, with Virgil van Dijk, Ryan Gravenberch and Cody Gakpo set to represent the Dutch.
However, apart from that, The Reds are not particularly well represented among the favourites to win the World Cup.
Will the World Cup impact the 2026/27 Premier League relegation battle?
The World Cup will probably have a bigger impact on the relegation battle than the title race.
Firstly, the tournament is the perfect platform for the stars of smaller clubs to show the biggest sides in Europe what they can do.
That could potentially drag sides who have impressed in recent years into the relegation battle.
On top of that, the sheer quantity of players in action this summer could impact on the bottom half next season.
The promoted sides, Coventry City, Hull City and Ipswich Town, have a total of seven players at the tournament.
Crystal Palace have 12 players travelling and Sunderland have 11, all while preparing for a UEFA Europa League campaign next term.
That could put serious strain on their squads over the next 12 months, and give the newly-promoted teams a chance to maintain their place in the Premier League.
