Real hoping to land Premier League trio
Real Madrid are hoping to raid the Premier League with Manchester City’s Rodri, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold and Arsenal’s William Saliba on their wishlist.
That is according to the Mirror, which also claims Los Blancos are admirers of Tottenham’s Cristian Romero.
“Real Madrid are hoping to lure Trent Alexander-Arnold and three other top Premier League stars to the Bernabeu next summer, it has emerged,” notes the outlet.
“The Spanish giants are long-term admirers of Alexander-Arnold, 25, whose future at Liverpool remains uncertain. The right-back is in the final year of his deal and is free to talk to overseas clubs in January.
“But while Real Madrid's interest in Alexander-Arnold is nothing new, it's been revealed they are also keeping an eye on other players in England.
“That includes Rodri, who is believed to be keen on returning to his native Spain at some point in the future and Los Blancos are said to be keeping a keen eye on the hearing into Manchester City's alleged financial wrongdoing which started this week.
“The Independent go on to outline that Real are conscious of maintaining close links to the Spanish national team with Rodri establishing himself as a key figure in the group that won Euro 2024 in the summer.
“The top brass at Bernabeu also have their eye on William Saliba and Cristian Romero. There is a desire to strengthen at centre-back and Saliba is viewed as a player capable of being the 'future of their defence'."
Man Utd and West Ham alerted by Goretzka situation
Manchester United and West Ham’s hope of signing Leon Goretzka have been given a boost, according to The Sun.
The outlet claims both clubs have been “long-term admirers” of the midfielder, who they claim could “push” for a move in January.
The Sun explains: “Bayern Munich have put a host of Premier League clubs on red alert by admitting that Leon Goretzka is ‘unhappy’.
“The 29-year-old German international midfielder has been brutally axed by new boss Vincent Kompany this term following the arrival of Joao Palhinha from Fulham.
“Goretzka has been at Bayern since 2018 and remains under contract until 2026 but he could be set to push for a move in January.
“Manchester United and West Ham have been long-term admirers of the experienced star.
“A host of other top-flight clubs would also be keen should Goretzka become available.
“And the prospect of him departing Bayern appears to be very real as director of sport Max Eberl revealed how miserable the ex-Schalke man is.
“He said: ‘We communicated very clearly from the start.
“'Leon knew that we were relying on Pavlo [Aleksandar Pavlovic], and that we would bring in with Palhinha and that Josh [Kimmich] would play more in the centre again.”
“'We've also said that when Leon is there and ready to face the situation, he'll be treated completely normally.
“'Leon's a great guy. I like him a lot, even though he's obviously upset at the moment. I understand that too. But that's part of life in football.'”
'Record-breaking' contract for Martial
Anthony Martial will join AEK Athens on a free agent after leaving Manchester United in the summer.
The Mail claims the Frenchman is set for a "record-breaking" contract with the Greek club.
"Anthony Martial has agreed a record-breaking contract with a European club, according to reports," states the article.
"He has been linked with numerous clubs - including Flamengo in Brazil - but is reportedly on the verge of signing a deal with a European side.
"SPORT24 report that he is exchanging final documents with Greek giants AEK Athens for a three-year contract, while Relevo report he has verbally agreed a move.
"Martial is in line to earn £2.5million per season with AEK and the deal would have been announced on Monday night if not for a delay, as per SPORT24.
"That deal, amounting to £7.5m in total including bonuses, would be the most lucrative in AEK's history."
