However, reports state that while intermediaries floated a potential £45m figure, The Magpies instantly dismissed that idea, holding firm to the strong stance laid out by CEO David Hopkinson that any high-profile exits this summer will happen on the club's terms.
The Newcastle Chronicle reports: ”Reports in the media outlet Globo in Brazil reported that Bruno's Newcastle exit could be triggered for £60m in the current window after The Magpies failed to qualify for the Champions League - a clause confirmed by those close to the deal.
”Bruno has previously had escape clauses in his contract that expire after a certain amount of time with a £100m exit option timing out in June 2024 amid interest from Man City and Arsenal.
”ChronicleLive understands that a price of £45m was suggested, via intermediaries, but this was swiftly dismissed as Newcastle aren't interested in losing a key player.
”Newcastle have made it clear they will only sell players on their terms this summer with CEO David Hopkinson addressing journalists back in March with a strong message.”
Newcastle target Toure to replace Gordon
Newcastle are tracking Hoffenheim’s 20-year-old winger Bazoumana Toure as they scramble to source a replacement for England international Anthony Gordon, who has completed a move to Barcelona.
Newcastle had previously moved for Osasuna's Victor Munoz only to see the deal hijacked by Liverpool, and they now face stiff competition from Brentford for Toure, a wide forward known for his pace and dribbling ability.
The Daily Mail explains: ”Newcastle are maintaining a watching brief on Ivory Coast winger Bazoumana Toure and Bosnia's Kerim Alajbegovic.
”As Daily Mail Sport reported, Eddie Howe's side want a replacement for Anthony Gordon who has joined Barcelona. They bid for Victor Munoz at Osasuna but saw Liverpool hijack their move.
”Brentford are also exploring a move for Toure. Indeed, the 20-year-old Hoffenheim flyer has attracted attention from a number of top clubs this summer.
”A right-footed winger, who predominantly plays off the left flank, he can also play in the right and as a central striker. He has explosive pace and has caught the eye for his ability in one-on-one situations.”
Man City rival trio for £69m wonderkid Bouaddi
Manchester City have entered the race to sign highly rated Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi following his impressive performances at the World Cup this summer.
The 18-year-old Lille prodigy, who carries a £69m price tag and has earned comparisons to holding midfielders Rodri and Fabinho, is already a top priority for Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain, while Liverpool could also join the hunt as uncertainty grows over the future of Alexis Mac Allister.
The Daily Star states: ”The Morocco wonderkid already had admirers before the World Cup but has thrust himself onto virtually every elite club's wishlist with his displays this summer, including Real Madrid and PSG.
”And City appear no different after Spanish publication Marca reported City are firmly in contention for his signature as well.
The 18-year-old is said to carry a £69m valuation, drawing parallels to the likes of Rodri and Fabinho.
”Liverpool have their own reasons to pursue reinforcements in the engine room. Ryan Gravenberch and Dominik Szoboszlai are established as crucial components at Anfield but Alexis Mac Allister's future remains uncertain amid speculation linking him to Real Madrid.”
Chelsea target Chavarria
