Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Harry Maguire are expected to miss out on Thomas Tuchel's England squad for the 2026 World Cup, according to various outlets, including The Times.

Tuchel, who will name his 26-man squad on Friday, has caused a stir by leaving the experienced trio out of the tournament, which is taking place in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Luke Shaw is also said to have been omitted, but Ivan Toney - now plying his trade in Saudi Arabia for Al-Ahli - is a surprise inclusion.

The Times notes: "Harry Maguire has revealed his 'shock' at being left out of the England squad for next month’s World Cup, while Phil Foden is also expected to be omitted.

"Thomas Tuchel is set to name his squad as part of a live show at Wembley on Friday morning, but Maguire, 33, is the first to go public about the news that he is not part of the 26-man squad who will travel for England’s pre-tournament camp in Florida on June 1.

"It is understood that Ivan Toney, the former Brentford forward who now plays in Sauda Arabia for Al-Ahli, has made the cut.

"The Chelsea centre back Levi Colwill, 23, who had missed the majority of the season with a knee injury but returned to first-team action on May 4, is expected to be included, as is the Arsenal winger Noni Madueke. However Luke Shaw, Maguire’s United team-mate, has not made the squad."

Villa have £100m budget

Newly-crowned UEFA Europa League champions Aston Villa will have up to £100 million to spend this summer, reports the Daily Mirror.

Unai Emery guided Villa to their first trophy in 30 years with a 3-0 win over Freiburg on Wednesday in Istanbul, and called for "support" to help close the gap on Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester City.

Now, it is believed Emery will have the backing of his superiors in the summer market.

"Unai Emery will be rewarded for Aston Villa's Europa League triumph with an improved transfer budget of up to £100m," writes the Mirror.

"Emery is expected to hold talks with joint owner Nassef Sawiris in the coming weeks to thrash out a spending plan.

"Emery, who took his squad and staff on an open-top bus parade through Birmingham on Thursday, is keen to strengthen his midfield, and has targeted Celta Vigo star IIaix Moriba.

"He has also put Fulham's Harry Wilson and Como's Jesus Rodriguez on his summer shopping list, and is desperate to keep hold of Youri Tielemans.

"Emery will have to work within the Premier League's PSR rules, which will result in Jadon Sancho being released from his loan deal to get him off the club's wage bill. And Sawiris is willing to back his manager as best he can."

Chelsea monitoring Kroupi

Chelsea are monitoring Bournemouth sensation Eli Junior Kroupi, according to the Daily Mail.

The Blues could challenge Arsenal for the 19-year-old after an impressive season in the Premier League, striking 13 goals.

The Cherries, who could yet seal a spot in next season's UEFA Champions League, are determined to hold onto their star, though.

"Chelsea want to be kept informed on Eli Junior Kroupi’s situation this summer, though Bournemouth are currently insisting their 19-year-old sensation is not for sale," writes the Mail.

"Arsenal have also been tracking the teenager, which would be some story if he joined them, after his goal against Manchester City on Tuesday helped confirm Mikel Arteta’s side as Premier League champions for the first time since before he was born.

"Bournemouth have used the versatile Kroupi as a No. 10 and a No. 9, though he can also be used towards the left wing.

"Bournemouth sources, however, say Kroupi is not for sale and that they are not interested in selling. Under Iraola, who will be leaving at the end of this season to be replaced by Marco Rose, they have now secured European football for next term."
