"Szoboszlai's national team boss, Marco Rossi, has seemingly revealed that his star man has grown up always wanting to represent Los Blancos at some point during his career," reads the report.

"Rossi is quoted by Marca as saying: ‘Because of the very close and direct relationship I have with Dominik Szoboszlai since he started playing football as a child, Real Madrid has always been his dream.

"'I don't know if he'll be able to take that step, because the decision depends on him and also on his club.'

"While Rossi was quick to express Szoboszlai's admiration for Real Madrid, he went on to hint that the player could yet choose to extend his contract with Liverpool, adding: ‘I absolutely don't rule out the possibility of him staying at Liverpool and renewing his contract there, especially because he's highly valued within the club.’"

Could Rashford still have Man Utd future?

Michael Carrick could try to convince Marcus Rashford to return to Manchester United should he land the permanent managerial job.

Rashford has contributed 10 goals and 13 assists in 34 appearances across all competitions for Barcelona and is expected to stay in Spain beyond the summer.

The Mirror writes: "One of the most potentially straightforward decision [sic] comes in attack, where Marcus Rashford's move from Manchester United can be made permanent.

"Rashford is spending the 2025/26 season on loan from United and has made it plain that he wants to secure a permanent transfer. Barca have the option to sign him for around £26million and are minded to do so, with his form very impressive.

"Yet Michael Carrick taking over from Ruben Amorim - the manager who froze out Rashford at United - could still play a part in Rashford's future. Carrick has a history of bringing back players from the cold and could try to convince the academy graduate to return to the fold, if he gets the job permanently."

Giants monitor Abe

Manchester City and Chelsea continue to monitor the progress of Liverpool wonderkid Josh Abe, reports the Liverpool Echo.

The 15-year-old winger netted a hat-trick against Leeds United for the club's under-18 team over the weekend.

The outlet writes: "It was another profitable weekend for two Liverpool youngsters. Josh Abe, the 15-year-old winger who has been causing a stir of late, scored a hat-trick.

"Abe was once again the star, with his treble moving him on to eight goals in 10 games in the competition with six coming in his last four outings.

"The teenager has caught the eye of a number of clubs, including Manchester City and Chelsea, and was recently given a tour of Real Madrid's facilities having signed up with Tyler Alexander-Arnold's PLG Agency.

"Liverpool, though, are keen to hold on to Abe and last week the youngster was invited to take part in training alongside the first-team squad."
