Atletico Madrid have slapped a £129 million price tag on Arsenal and Chelsea target Julian Alvarez, reports the Mirror.
The outlet claims the Spanish side, who thumped Tottenham Hotspur in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie, are "open" to a sale - but only if their valuation of the striker is met.
Alvarez has made 98 appearances for Atleti, scoring 45 goals, since his move from Manchester City
The Mirror writes: "Atletico Madrid will only sell Julian Alvarez if they receive offers close to £129m as Arsenal and Chelsea chase a deal for the Argentine forward this summer.
"The Gunners have regularly been linked with a move for Alvarez, with Mikel Arteta remaining keen on bolstering his attacking options. And while Alvarez has over four years remaining on his contract at the Wanda Metropolitano, it appears that his current employers would be open to doing a deal.
"According to Sport, Diego Simeone’s side could potentially listen to offers from Premier League sides should they be in the region of £129m. Any offer has to be in far excess of the reported £86m price tag that had previously been suggested, with Atleti having paid out around £82m in August 2024.
"Barcelona have also been linked with Alvarez, albeit Atletico are not keen on doing business with any of their Spanish counterparts."

Juventus are said to be one of many clubs interested in the 31-year-old.

"Juve winger Francisco Conceicao has offered to try and help his club get a transfer over the line.

"With Silva, 31, said to earn over £300,000 per week at the Etihad but not keen on extending his stay past June 30, talk of an exit is rife.
"Galatasaray and Juve are just two of the sides linked with snapping him up for nothing and Conceicao is happy to play a key role in getting Silva to Turin.
"Serie A strugglers Juve face competition if they are to sign Silva with reports claiming Turkish giants Galatasaray are ready to call on former City stars Leroy Sane and Ilkay Gundogan to lure Pep Guardiola‘s favourite away."

Arsenal working on Lukeba deal

The Star reports that Arsenal are working on a deal to secure RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Lukeba.
The 23-year-old is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 2029, but has attracted the interest of Arsenal and German rivals Bayern Munich. He reportedly has a release clause of £78m.
"Arsenal have reportedly intensified their pursuit of RB Leipzig centre-back Castello Lukeba," the Daily Star notes.
"The Gunners are believed to have monitored the Frenchman during recent Bundesliga matches and have witnessed enough to start investigating a summer move.
"French publication L'Equipe claims that Arsenal are 'working' on securing Lukeba's signature and have initiated talks, though it remains uncertain whether these discussions involve the club directly or the player's representative.
"The 23-year-old appears set to leave Germany this summer, with the Premier League or La Liga being his preferred destinations.
"Previous reports suggested Lukeba possessed a release clause worth approximately £78m, a substantial sum for a defender who would find it challenging to displace William Saliba or Gabriel Magalhaes in the centre of defence, at least initially."
