Liverpool’s top transfer target to replace Mohamed Salah is 19-year-old RB Leipzig winger – Paper Round

Liverpool are making a new right winger the priority when the transfer window opens, although they accept replacing Salah will be difficult. Nevertheless, Ivorian Diomande has attracted their attention.

The Telegraph adds: ”The 19-year-old, who already has nine international caps, has a release clause of about €100m (£86m).

"Liverpool have been watching him closely this season, in which he registered 13 goals and 10 assists for his club in all competitions.

”Liverpool have a history of doing business with Leipzig, with recent signings including Dominik Szoboszlai, Ibrahima Konaté and Naby Keïta. They may be able to lower the price through a player-plus-cash deal.

”While Diomande features prominently in Liverpool’s thinking, they are keeping a close eye on others, including Anthony Gordon, the Newcastle United and England forward, who was offered to them in 2024. His pace and versatility would be attractive qualities.”

Harvey Barnes is on Aston Villa’s radar as the club look to bolster their squad for a Champions League campaign next season, the Daily Mail reports.

Villa won the Europa League last week and are now preparing for a second season in the Champions League in the space of three years.

The Mail adds: ”Barnes has two years remaining on his Newcastle contract and is a proven creator and scorer from wide areas. He scored 16 goals in all competitions this season, including six in the Champions League, and his speed would also make Villa more dangerous on the counter-attack. Barnes is right-footed but can play on either flank.

”For Villa, the transfer market will be another balancing act, and Barnes, 28, would not come cheap.

”He joined Newcastle from Leicester three years ago and the Magpies would be looking to recoup the majority of the £38million fee. The possibility of fellow attacker Anthony Gordon moving to Bayern Munich could also influence Newcastle’s stance on Barnes.

”Yet Barnes may be attracted by the idea of continuing to play in the Champions League and moving to Villa would mean he could be closer to his family, who are based in the Midlands.”

Scott Parker and Gary O’Neil are on West Ham’s radar with Nuno Espirito Santo expected to leave the club following their relegation from the Premier League, the Guardian reports.

Nuno is set for talks with West Ham’s board and those discussions are set to end with the Portuguese leaving the club.

The Guardian adds: ”The former Wolves manager took over from Graham Potter last September but was unable to keep West Ham out of the bottom three. He was backed with funds in January but his confusing training methods and team selections did not sit well with some players.

”West Ham will be looking for their fifth manager in two years if Nuno’s reign ends. Scott Parker, who recently left Burnley, and Strasbourg’s Gary O’Neil, formerly at Bournemouth and Wolves, are of interest.

”Slaven Bilic, the former West Ham manager, was linked with the role before Nuno replaced Potter. Whoever takes charge will have to deal with a fire sale this summer. West Ham posted losses of £104.2m in the last financial year and may need up to bring in £150m in sales.”
