United have made Fernandes a prime target for their midfield rebuild, while a move for Dutch international winger Summerville remains closely dependent on Marcus Rashford's future following his loan spell at Barcelona.
The Mail reports: ”Manchester United are discussing a double move for West Ham pair Mateus Fernandes and winger Crysencio Summerville.
”Paris Saint-Germain have also discussed both players but also have other targets they are working on.
”United have made midfielder Fernandes a priority and have Netherlands international Summerville in their sights too.
”Key will be the price as West Ham want up to £140 million for the pair but United will be looking to pay considerably less.
”United still want to add another midfielder once Manuel Ugarte departs, plus cover in defence and in goal.”
The Daily Star adds: ”The future of Marcus Rashford will significantly influence whether United pursue a move for Summerville or another winger in the transfer window.
”The 28-year-old joined Barcelona on loan last summer, with the option to make the deal permanent initially considered a formality.
”However, following Barcelona's £70m decision to sign Anthony Gordon, Rashford's situation is now uncertain.
”With two years remaining on his contract, if he were to return, United would likely not seek another wide forward.”

Chelsea look to Carreras after Cucurella exit

Chelsea have turned their attention to Real Madrid left-back Alvaro Carreras as they search for defensive options to fill the void left by Marc Cucurella.
Cucurella finalised a permanent move to the Bernabeu on a six-year contract, prompting the Blues to monitor Carreras’ fluid status in the Spanish capital.
The Mirror explains: ”Chelsea are reportedly showing an interest in signing Real Madrid star Alvaro Carreras as they explore the left-back market.
”The Blues may be forced to strengthen their defence following the departure of Marc Cucurella, who will join the Liga giants this summer.
”It was confirmed on Monday that Cucurella will move to Madrid on a permanent deal, with the Spanish club announcing that the left-back has signed a six-year contract that runs until the summer of 2032.
”Spanish news outlet AS has claimed that Chelsea are exploring a potential deal for Carreras, with the defender being placed on the Blues’ shortlist of targets for this summer.
”The report also claims that Madrid are not fully against the idea of selling Carreras this summer, with the defender himself still unsure of what his future holds ahead of next season.”

Spurs hold encouraging talks over Tonali deal

Tottenham Hotspur have initiated positive foundational discussions with the representatives of Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali over a blockbuster summer switch.
The prospective move is being heavily prioritised by head coach Roberto De Zerbi, though matching the Magpies' expected valuation remains a considerable obstacle.
The Athletic reveals: ”Tottenham Hotspur are in positive talks with the camp of Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali over a potential summer move.
”There has been no contact so far with Newcastle, but if an agreement looks possible with the player, club-to-club contact can be expected to follow.
”The transfer fee is considered a bigger challenge for Spurs than a deal with the player.
”Tottenham are prepared to push hard for a statement signing, which is being driven by head coach Roberto De Zerbi and is backed by the ownership.
”Tonali, 26, has also attracted interest from Arsenal and Manchester City but at this stage Spurs are most advanced over a proposed deal.”
