The Magpies are also targeting Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford as manager Eddie Howe looks to establish long-term depth between the posts, depending heavily on Nick Pope's impending choice to stay or leave Tyneside.
The i Paper reports: ”The i Paper understands that they are yet to hold detailed discussions with Odysseas Vlachodimos, who excelled on loan at Sevilla, but the intention is to sell him this summer.
”Newcastle want to broker quick business this summer after the sale of Anthony Gordon unlocked their ability to spend.
"They want to add a left-sided forward, a right-back and a ‘No. 6’ to give them more versatility in how they play under Eddie Howe next season.
”The Magpies are aiming to do quick business and are – in the words of one insider – ‘spinning plenty of plates’. Victor Munoz of Osasuna is a target to replace Gordon.”
The Sun adds: ”Leeds United and Ipswich are battling it out to sign Newcastle’s Nick Pope.
”The England international goalkeeper, 34, is now weighing up whether to end his four-year stay on Tyneside or fight for his place.
”Newcastle will make Reims’ French U21 stopper Ewen Jaouen their first summer signing next week.
”But boss Eddie Howe is also on the lookout for another established goalie as part of his Toon rebuild.
”Brighton’s Dutch ace Bart Verbruggen and Manchester City’s James Trafford are both top targets – but any move could depend on Pope.”
Como priced out of Chiesa move
Liverpool have placed a steep valuation on winger Federico Chiesa, threatening to derail a potential return to Italy with UEFA Champions League newcomers Como.
The Italian international is looking for regular starting minutes away from Anfield following two heavily injury-disrupted seasons on Merseyside.
The Mirror explains: ”Federico Chiesa could lose out on a move to Como, with Liverpool pricing the winger out of a switch.
”The Italian winger is expected to pursue a move away from Anfield this summer following a couple of frustrating seasons at the club.
”Having been signed from Italian giants Juventus, he has been limited to just 50 outings for the Reds due to injury and only nine of those have been starts.
”Chiesa continues to have admirers in Italy, including at Como, who are aiming to add to their squad having sealed a spot in the Champions League for next season.”
Leicester open talks with Martin
Leicester City have initiated detailed negotiations with Russell Martin as they look to appoint a new head coach following their relegation to League One.
The former Rangers and Southampton manager has been singled out as the primary target to guide the former top-flight champions through a total structural overhaul.
The Telegraph reveals: ”Russell Martin is in advanced talks with Leicester City and weighing up an offer to make his return to management in League One.
”Relegated Leicester have moved for the former Rangers and Southampton manager as they prepare for a major rebuilding job following their third demotion in four seasons.
”Martin has not accepted the job at this stage but is emerging as Leicester’s prime target for the task of reviving the former Premier League champions.”
